Great BluRay Player
I did a bunch of research on Blu-Ray players and wanted to make sure not to buy the cheapest one I could find. However, after using my consumer reports account to research brands/models/etc.....well Samsung came out almost right on top. So this model popped up in my searching on Amazon and I did some research into it. So far I am beyond amazed by how well it works. It's quick, quiet, and has lots of options built in for the price I'm just honestly blown away! Only con I could possibly find was that there is no "on/off" LED indicator; but honestly, thats not the end of the world. I wonder if anyone has figured out where on the inside the connection location would be for the factory LED on/off light...would not be that hard to drill a small hole in the front/top, solder in a LED, and then glue through the hole. Perhaps more research will find that answer. Seriously; this bluray player rocks; you just cant beat the price. I know, I checked the local 'blueshirt' group and they could not match the price.

Functional disc player, without many pizzazz
Bought this through Amazon's warehouse deals, a used, as-new product. The player and the remote arrived just fine, without any problem just in time for Thanksgiving movie marathons. The setup is a breeze, there is almost nothing to setup, except the network information for the apps. The player does have a not-so-slick construction, with the buttons appearing like hand-painted, but then it isn't exactly a top-of-the line product. The setup menu may seem overwhelming at first, though. I have a Samsung Smart TV, hence almost all the apps that are on the player are also there on the TV. This player can connect to the network only through a wired connection, which is a bummer since my wired modem is plugged in another room. A basic, yet important drawback is that there are no light indicators to indicate whether the player is playing or on stand-by or it has a disc inside or not, which unnecessarily doubles our efforts. Overall, it is a good buy as a basic Blu-ray disc player and if placed close to your wired modem, it is good for all those streaming apps available.

A Great Blu-Ray Player For The Price! But it's not flawless...
This is a great Blu-Ray/DVD player. My only real complaint is that Iit does not have a light or anything else to indicate that it's on when you look at it.There was another review by someone complaining how this system will not work properly or even work again if left on with no interaction whatsoever. This really scared me because I didn't want to buy a product so risky. However, the one I bought did not have this problem. I'd say that within an hour of not playing a disc or me messing with the device it shut down by itself. What I really love is that how fast it plays my discs. I have seen other blu-ray players taking quite awhile to load discs, but this one plays them instantly. It takes maybe 5 seconds until the film starts. The films themselves play beautifully and look amazing in HD. I almost believe I'm watching Ultra 4k Blu-Rays on my little TV. The only thing this system does not do great is upscaling DVDs to 1080p. I've noticed that my older DVDs play fine but anything older than 2013 has pixels around ever object in the film. If you have a lot of DVDs like me, this could be a problem for you. But I think after awhile, you'll get used to it and hardly notice it anymore. I strongly recommend that you start buying Blu-Ray discs from now on after buying this player if you want a clear and beautiful picture.I really have another problem with the remote. The remote feels heavily outdated and has many buttons in a lot of wrong places. There's a whole Samsung TV section that can be confusing because there's two big red buttons for power up on the top and you could keep mistakenly press the wrong one. So instead your TV goes off (if you have a Samsung TV) instead of your Blu-Ray. Then there's those pointless ABCD buttons and the ones below them, which you will probably never use. I'm a person used to the pointers (up, down, left, right arrows) to be up on top and the numbers to be on the bottom, but they switch it around and it becomes annoying to slide my fingers all the way down to those buttons. Perhaps I'm over-analyzing, but I found this remote to be a bit frustrating. Some maybe mad that you have to run the system through an ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi to access the apps and updates, but I have a Roku TV, so it really doesn't matter to me. If you want this blu-ray player with Wi-Fi, you'll have to spend a little more. But I chose this one because I only care about it playing Blu-Rays and DVDs.Overall, I really love my Blu-Ray player. I have not seen any signs of it wearing down or failing on me. It plays Blu-Rays amazingly and DVDs okay, but it plays any disc incredibly fast. It's remote is little confusing, but fine I guess. If you want to buy a cheap Blu-Ray player for only playing discs, this is for you but maybe start extending your blu-ray collection after this. Thanks for reading.
