Simple Designs LT2009-GRN Mini Egg Oval Ceramic Table Desk Lamp, Green

This is a beautiful little lamp and potentially very serviceable for someone. The switch is describe as rotary in the description, and I assumed this meant the twisty knob on the socket. It is not--it is an inline switch which in fairness does twist. This won't work for me as I need something I can easily find and quickly turn on in the dark, in time to see the caller ID on my phone. This would involve too much fumbling. When it arrived the inner product box showed crush damage. Unfortunately, the shade had been crushed inside as well. It should never have been sent out with obvious damage to the box, without inspection, but that would slow things down at the warehouse, wouldn't it (note: the outer box was not damaged so it was shipped that way). I will return it, but it is a shame as it is such a beautiful tiny lamp for next to my bedroom phone.Update: We initiated an exchange for this and got the new lamp in 2 days. There was a little damage to the box but on the base end not the shade end. The shade was fine. We like it so much we decided to use it in another location where finding the switch quickly in the dark is not a issue. So we are completely happy with it now. Doesn't seem to be a problem of the shade getting too hot as one reviewer mentioned. Maybe they were using a bulb with too many watts. Works fine with the recommended 40 watt bulb. You can always go to LED for less heat or more light.

This little lamp is such a cute room accessory. The colors offer bright options. Bear in mind that the lamp is little! It's made for a small night stand or table. It would be sweet on a dresser or in a nursery or young child's room. Definitely versatile! At 40 watts, it's definitely brighter than a nightlight, but it doesn't fill a room with bright light; the light is soft. I purchased an orange one for a small night stand and have purchased a blue one for my dresser. The 2 together will light up my bedroom well - one alone will keep it soft. The only disadvantage to this cute little lamp is that it is lightweight, so falls over easily.

OMG ! Rec'vd today. Very Cute but a DISGRACE to whomever made the tissue paper shade and cheap...and I mean cheap..lampshade and protective(?????) plastic. Shame on me for ordering it. I'm just going to throw out....BIG fire hazard if ya ask me. I couldn't and wouldn't dare even put these out at garage sale for fear that I might cause someone's life.Ooooh...and if you have arthritic hands...forget about it. Can't twist socket nut after lamp shade is put on...I'm small..and my hand wouldn't fit, nor was I able to secure under the teeny tiny ( in my case ...shredded material) lamp shade. The bulbs that I had ordered to accommodate these flimsy lamps..will be going back before they hit my front step.

First off yes, it is TINY. It won’t light up an entire room. It wouldn’t be good for a desk to do your work. It is great for an accent lamp or a small bedside table which is what I got it for. It is compact for moving.I chose a GE Lighting 22239 Energy-Smart LED 4.5-watt, 350-Lumen light bulb to use with it. Found it here on Amazon for a pretty decent price.Yes, the bulb extends a bit over the top of the cover. This could be a bad thing if you need to reach over the lamp to turn it off or reach over it in general. I tend not to mind as the bulb I chose doesn’t burn hot at all. I found this out by accident when the lamp fell over and I accidentally touched the bulb. At that point it hadn’t been on that long.I purposely left it on for over eight (8) hours, and wrapped the palm of my hand over the light bulb. Not cold, but not hot. It was “lukewarm” – like tap water. So, with regard to the lamp burning hot – with the bulb I got – it doesn’t. If it does, I would also look at the wiring and outlet. Again, this is my personal experience with this type of lamp and bulb combination.The switch is awkwardly placed. I do have to position the cord carefully around to access it. This works because I do have a small area where the lamp is so that isn’t too much of an issue.It is lightweight so moving it isn’t too much work or hassle.It isn’t too bad of a lamp for the price.

This was alot smaller then I expected, but it's working fine. It uses G type bulb. I purchased a G16 for it and it's working well. I thought about buying an LED G16 to save energy, but LED tend to burn very hot and the lamp suggest using bulb of 40 watts maximum because chance of fire.I also like that the light switch is on the cord instead of on the lamp itself, because I have it on my night stand and it's easier to reach being on the cord.I would suggest Amazon to tell customers buying this lamp the light bulb recommended for this lamp.Update 12-13-2014I liked this lamp at first, but I got tired of it being so darn tiny and light that any little movement knocks it over.If you want something sturdy then this is not the lamp for you, I still have it in working order, but it's sitting on a pile of stuff right now. I bought a full size table lamp to replace it.

It is a very small lamp but very nice. It did not come with a bulb and customer service had no problem happily shipping me the right size bulb. The outstanding customer service impressed me. They did not have to send me a bulb and it was only a $10 lamp. Be assured you can trust a purchase from this company.

I bought three of these little lights in 2015 for rarely used guest rooms in our house. They are tiny, which is just what I wanted, fit perfectly in the spots where I needed a small lamp, and are very classic looking. However, that's where the compliments end. The shade is held in place by the bulb - you put the shade on, then screw in the bulb. They take special small bulbs with a small base like flame chandelier bulbs, but shorter and round, which I ordered when I bought the lamps as someone else mentioned. These bulbs are not very sturdy and the shade fits so loosely that with any contact at all, it tips off its base and hits the bulb. This has caused the bulb to break off from its base so the light doesn't work and is somewhat hazardous as well. Over the 3 years I had these lamps, all 3 of them have had this issue at least once and they in rooms that only get used 3-4 times each year. I have now shifted to regular sturdy flame-shaped bulbs which stick out of the top of the shade a little but seem more able to withstand bumps from the shade. I am considering completely replacing them, this is too much effort and the bulbs are not cheap! Choose wisely.

The main description is misleading calling it a table lamp in the heading. This is NOT something you're going to put on an end table next to the sofa unless you're an Oompa Loompa. It's a decorative accent lamp that's exactly 9 inches tall from bottom to top of shade. The description says 9.45" but I measured an exact 9 inches.I placed a 3w (15w equivalent) LED candelabra bulb inside bought from Wally World for under 3 bucks. You could use a regular candelabra bulb, but living in hot FL I want to save all those watts used for the central AC and less on light bulbs, so all the bulbs in my house are LED. It does stick out a bit from the shade when using LED though (regular candelabra bulbs won't).But as you can see in my photo, I just placed it above a couple of decorative boxes so you can't see the bulb but still see the lamp. I placed it in a dark counter area between my fridge and laundry closet and it look really nice and cozy.If you want accent lighting in a dark little corner, this is perfect. Again, it's NOT going to light up your living room, it's for accent purposes only in my opinion.I also like to add, I chose from the Amazon Warehouse Deals and open box (possibly a return) was half the regular price and it arrived 2 days with Prime and in perfect condition. So check those deals too. It doesn't come with the light bulb, so get that in advance so you're prepared when it arrives.All total, with light bulb, I paid about $7.50 and feel it was worth every penny for such a cute little lamp. As you see, I got the blue one and hope the photo helps!

This lamp set is small and cute but provides effective illumination. Good for kids, cottage, small tables and spaces.
