Perfect pocket knife

This is a quality every day pocket knife. It is easy to sharpen and holds a good edge . This is the real deal made in Switzerland. Great for everyday tasks . I would recommend it .

This is my 2nd Pocket Pal. After 20 years I lost my first one. I love the thinness of the knife and it fits perfectly in my pocket. This time though I bought a leather cover for it so the scales don't get scratched and it doesn't fall out of my pocket again. If you don't need all the tools of a Swiss army knife this is the way to go. I use the small blade to open envelopes and the knife for cutting packages and other small things. I've heard that Victorinox is are discontinuing Pocket Pals, Secretary's, Patriot's(Wenger version), or Sentry's. Get them while you can.

There are two kinds of Victorinox knives of this style. One is completely made of stainless steel and is superb. The one being reviewed here(obtained through Amazon) does not keep up the Victorinox tradition of quality. The sides are made of a clunky red plastic which gives an impression of "knockoff" quality. Perhaps it is a knockoff. The two types are about the same cost.
