There are so many things to love about this soap ... my skin was immediately moisturized while getting cleansed, it makes showering feel luxurious yet it doesn't leave a residue in my tub & the smell is incredible & relaxing. The soap is thick & creamy, the ingredients are pure & it's certainly worth the money. I was moved by the history of this family & what they stand for since they began in 1858 ... this simple soap truly provides clean body, mind, soul & spirit! Even the label is worth reading - I've saved my first one as a bookmark for my Bible.

I have been using this soap for a couple of years now and find that it smells great, lathers well and the bars last a long time. My go to bar soap!

Added comment on 4/19/16 - still my favorite soap. Have bought a years'+ supply. :-) Additional comment added on 8/29/12 - My wife pointed out that since I started using this harder soap, she has to occasionally treat the drain pipe with Liquid Plumber. (she's very handy with knowing lots of stuff - I'd be lost without her)... anyway, she said that with the Irish Spring, she never had to do that. It appears the harder soap is congealing in the trap after the hot water has flushed the tub down after the shower, and it's leaving a layer of scum that attaches to the trap as the last of the water cools down. It's not a show-stopper, but it's something I thought I should add to the review. I do remember this was a problem in my parents house too, as all soap was much harder back in those days. Original review starts here: I've been looking for a while for "all natural" ingredient soaps, and I have bought several to try out. However, when getting one bar at a time, of a product that chain stores just don't carry (at least in my area), the prices tends to be rather high. Anyway, I hit on this one, and I really love it. The scent is pleasant, but not overpowering. It cleans really well, and most importantly, my skin has improved since using it. Interestingly, the bars last a lot longer than the commercial soap I used to buy (Irish Spring). I don't think this is completely due to size, but also to the "hardness" of the bar. It lathers very well, but we do have a good water softener, so that does make for good lathering. This soap is so good, I can wash my hair with it, and it feels just as good as using a good natural shampoo.

I love this soap! The scent is strong but not an annoying sort of lavender with extra scents hidden in to spice things up. I’ve had some soaps that absolutely make my skin feel like I’ve been stripped of everything I’ve ever loved, but this one keeps my body in good shape…feeling somewhat conditioned instead of shipped. The bar lasts for quite a while…I wanna say around a month for me showering once a day; the size is also perfect for my man hands to hold, which is also perfect. If you get annoyed with body wash, just know there are options for you.

UPDATED - I previously ordered 2 bars of this soap in the lavender fragrance to give as gifts for my cousins who have sensitive skin... Opened the package and immediately knew I needed to order more for my husband and I! These smell so amazingly good and super fresh!! If you like lavender, you'll love this! Paraben free is a must in our household with cancer on both sides of the family. Dr. Bronner's is a good brand we know we can trust, without the preservatives found in breast tumors. These bars are larger than other natural brand soaps we've purchased and last nicely. Last year my cousin's and their parents fought over their soaps, lol. We all have sensitive skin but my cousins use this for deodorant and shaving cream because they're allergic to almost anything else. So this year I went for this six pack, which worked out to be a better value anyway. My shipping info said they'd take over a week but Prime had them shipped to me in two days and in time for Christmas. These smell so intoxicatingly good, even though they're individually wrapped, everyone could smell them through the wrapping paper (I used over the soap wrappers). Again, they were a hit! Smile. Buy with confidence. Christmas 2016 - Another 6-pack to go with gifts and the quality is the same. You can smell them through the delivery box. Awesome soap, gentle but a real treat. Je les utilise pour faire "ma lessive maison". Je trouve que ce savon sent très bon (donc la lessive aussi:) ) mais ce n'est pas entêtant comme la lessive industrielle. Mélangé à divers produits (acide citrique, bicarbonate, gros sel,....) mon linge sent le propre. Je ne l'ai jamais utilisé pour autre chose mais apparemment la marque est très réputée.

I bought a multi-pack and this will last over a year and worked out cheaper as I use three bars to make my homemade natural as possible soap powder. I tried the lavender fragrance and they have a really beautiful aroma that is not over powering. It doesn't transfer to the washing as much just a subtle hint.

Although, I've been a fan of Dr Bronners' products for a while, prefer all-natural things , up until now I've only used their unscented (liquid) Castille soap. I needed some bars of Castille soap for a powder laundry detergent I was making and decided to go for the Lavender ones. As soon as I opened the first bar....OMG that smelt good! Quite strong and very very beautiful. Even mixed with other ingredients I could still smell it clearly and it was still beautiful. Very happy with mine and glad I bought them. As a Dr Bronner's pruduct I know it will wotk well. LOVE how it says "All One" on each bar. It's a reminder to me that as I work to keep my family chemical free, it does also help the environment.☺
