IRIS USA DF-S Shoe Box, Large, Clear, 6 Count

These boxes are great for organization and cleanliness in the closet (or wherever) but some problems... I ordered a couple of sets of these and what I went through to get a set that didn't have a broken one was ridiculous! These boxes are a great idea but poorly made and even more poorly packaged. There were cracks in the boxes and on one the door was completely off. They are stacked in the usual cardboard box without protection which means that with all the jostling around it gets, the higher the risk of damage. I sent back three sets before a wonderful Amazon customer service rep made sure I got good boxes. In the meantime, I had to be inconvenienced by the whole hassle of taping up the box, printing out return paperwork, waiting on the UPS guy to pick it up (it's a huge box not to be left outside for security reasons) and having to deal with the aggravation. All of which are really no big deal I guess but when a product is this expensive for just a simple plastic box....well they could've taken better care with quality control and packaging. Not Amazons fault so much I think. The boxes come in a sealed carton from Iris USA. Anyway, once I get some good boxes from Amazon (after 2 weeks of exchanging nonsense with Prime I might add) I stacked them in my closet for use. The box overall is nice. This isn't a heavy sturdy plastic box by any means. It's not flimsy but don't expect something like the storage boxes you can buy that are from Sterlite or Rubbermaid or of the like from Target, Lowes or any general merchandise store. Nope, these are less than that. Once stacked, they provide support for each other which helped a great deal. The flip down door, however, is still flimsy and thin and can easily be broken over time or with mishandling. I ordered the larger of the boxes so my shoes have plenty of room inside. I can even store 2 pairs with ease. Mind you, I'm a women's size 8. My husband doesn't like to use boxes because he's too lazy. He slips his shoes off wherever he wants in the closet and that's all. What he does like about the boxes is that with my shoes neatly stored is that it leaves more room for him on the floor to leave his shoes without piling them up on top of each other. Ugh. Back on track here, I like that they keep my shoes clean and organized on the shelf. Above all, with them stacked, you can get to any pair of shoes you want without having to move boxes around. Those pesky shoe boxes with individual covers can be stacked but what if you want a pair that's on the bottom? Move all the boxes and move them back. These flip down front boxes alleviate that problem with 5 stars. That said, be warned about the problems with getting good, solid, unbroken boxes but enjoy the fact that they are super convenient to use. I've seen them at the Container Store for a hefty price but at least you can be sure to pick and choose for good ones and not go through the grief of getting them and sending them back repeatedly. I recommend them with reservations.

I love these boxes! I recently moved from my own home where I had two closets. One was for my clothes and the other was for my 70+ pair of shoes. (I know...excessive). I moved in with my Fiancé and he has a nice walk in closet, however, 70 pairs of shoes is a lot to work with. All of my shoes were kept in their original boxes but it looked kind of trashy and it was hard to dig shoes out of the bottom of the stack. Not to mention matching the shoes to the box I pulled them out of. Anyway, I digress, I purchased 4 sets of the large IRIS Drop front boxes and found that my 8.5 shoes fit in them VERY nicely sideways and I can get 2 pair into each box! With that being said there were some small issues.Pro's:Turn the boxes upside down for easier access due to my short stature and the height of the shelf.Can get more than 1 pair in almost any box. (I wear US Women 8.5 size)Clear front that drops closed when I'm done because I installed them upside down.Securely stackable.See through.Con's:I can see that excessive wear will probably break the front.Cost compared to other brands.4-5" platform heels can only be laid on their side too tall to stand up.

These are amazing! I purchased these for my shoes as my roommate and I have delegated our hallway closet the shoe closet. These are great to create an organized look and keep it clean and pretty. I am the type of person to look at organization closets for fun, so these bins were a dream come true. Instead of having the bins with the lids, that when you need a pair of shoes that happen to be on the botton you need to remove all the pairs on top, all you have to do is open the drop down window and pull out the shoes. It's great you can see each pair and stack multiple boxes on top of each other. If you have booties it is important to note if they have a heel over 2-1/2" might be a little tight. I am a size 9 1/2 and found my booties with 3" heels were a little constricted and bent on the tops. Overall, these were a great buy. Glad I purchased over the basic plastic containers.

I had my own shoe system where I would by shoe boxes from walmart, take a picture of each shoe and tape it on the inside of each box, facing outward. The boxes were stacked on my top shelf across my closet. It looked awesome, but when you have over 70 pair of shoes, the stacks were so high that I couldn't get to the bottom shoes without knocking boxes over. When I saw these, they were an answer to my prayer for the perfect shoe system! I have purchased over 40 boxes and will be ordering another 20 soon. What good is a bunch of shoes if you don't know what you have. I stacked these and when people see my closet they stand there in amazement! I know, I might be obsessive about my shoes, but really I just hate not being organized. These boxes are the perfect shoe organization system! Maybe I'll attach a photo or video when I am finished my whole closet project, just so you can see for yourself how awesome these things really are!! They can be a bit pricey when you need a lot of boxes and the shipping kills me, but when you spend good money on shoes, these boxes will be around forever to protect them.

Only good for lady shoes. Too small for men's shoes or sneakers.

I am a size 9 in Mens US shoes. My Jordan 4s do not fit in the boxes. buy a bigger size if you plan to store jordans in these boxes....
