SteelSeries Siberia Neckband Gaming Headset (White)

First off, let me just say that these headphones have great sound. Bass leaves very little to be desired, and fine details come through well. I love the design; they definitely look like something an alien race would design (maybe the protoss?).In general, I haven't found the headphones to be any more uncomfortable than the average headphones I have used in the past. I have medium length hair that covers my ears, and if I don't put on the headset under my hair, it promptly slides off. When situated properly, they stay on very well. The grip becomes a little less tight over time, but not to the point of making them fit any worse. I generally wear these headphones almost all night, and only notice ear soreness in about the 3rd or 4th hour, which is when I need a break any way X). The cord is the perfect length for me, since it gives me reach without letting the cable lie across the ground and be run over.The mic's quality is great, and it's not very noticeable when tucked away. I have not gotten any complaints from skype-mates, and have even recorded some musical samples with this mic: it is very capable.Overall, get this headset if you like the way it looks and don't mind trying the new fit. You will be plenty satisfied with the drivers and the mic, and the durability is more than good enough for me.

Build quality is good, sound quality is good ... but----I am a normal sized adult and after a few hours of wear the front of my ears hurt. This is due to the behind-the-neck design and the band being spring-loaded. In other words, it is always trying to return to its smallest size thereby putting pressure on the front of the ear.Retractable Mic: Kind of a good idea, but is not long enough. When extended, and since it is too short, you tend to tug on it periodically since the person on the other side of the conversation is commenting on not being able to hear the wearer very well.I have tugged on the mic boom so much that it only works some of the time.Sorry ... can not recommend this for an adult. Might be fine for someone younger/smaller.

Great gaming headset, very comfortable even after hours of game play. Sound quality is very good. Would surely recommend this product to others. SteelSeries is a high end gaming company, so the prices will always be higher, but better to buy something most expensive once than keep on breaking those $20 headsets.

At first glance this head set was everything I was looking for. Not the whole geek look of wearing something extremely bulky and going over the top of my head like those old headset radios old men would wear when they went jogging. I wanted something that looked cool and dammit if the pictures didn't make it look like some kind of DJ headset. It has a lot of neat little features like a retractable mic, built in volume and mute controller, long cords and an extra long cord to hook up to your Xbox.The ear cups were nice and soft, the neckband was nice and stretchy and could fit a various amount of head sizes. I found the most comfortable at first was to fit it just snug over my ears and let the neckband rest, well on my neck. But after an hour or two of gaming my ears began to start throbbing and getting fatigued from wearing this thing. Ever since I've owned this thing I've had to ear this thing in a variety of ways, from wearing a beanie to wearing a cap backwards and having the neckband sit on top of the bill to just wearing it around my neck and cranking up the volume.When I used it the audio was pretty good. Everything sounded clear and crisp to my ears. And it should work for almost everyone sound wise, unless they are the most extreme audiophiles. Like most, if not all, gaming headsets listening to music is very bland and you should look else where for audio headphones. But listening to movies, its pretty decent. The microphone use to work fairly well until I dropped it and it stopped working.Overall the build quality, it actually feels sturdier than some of Steelseries other headsets. I have dropped the thing several times and only on the last one did the microphone break giving me an excuse to find a new headset. Also after a while the elasticity of the neckband will wear out over time an usage.To me this product feels more like a prototype or a testing waters product. It looked cool at the time and there was a neat concept behind this product which I think Steelseries might have had a notion for setting a new trend away from geeky can headsets to techno Princess Leia ones. My advice is to see how they feel and fit on you, because they sound and work almost if not just as good as Steelseries Siberia v2s but at a fraction of the price.My hat size is 7 5/8" if this helps with anyones decision.

For me they don't stay in place and they fall off. I never thought I had an odd-shaped head, but perhaps I do. The other positive reviews indicate that my experience may not be typical. But be forewarned.

I really like how this is working out so far. There's not much I don't like about it. Specifically, I dislike how I can't lock the length of the headband. I like that it's retracting and all, I just wish I could lock it to a specific position, so that it could be more comfortable.I also dislike the size of the earpads. And by that I mean... they're too small for my ears! I wish they were just a bit larger so that I could fit them all the way over my ears - they would fit more comfortably on my head this way.They're not exactly UNcomfortable, but they did take a bit of adjustment to get used to, and I feel like I have to keep adjusting it to make sure it's snug about my ears.

I shouldn't of bought this. I liked them but this price. Not worth it at all. I should of thought it over. If I were to buy this pair of headphones today and they were for 30 dollars or so. I might consider it. You can find something else better

This is a really good headset, people keep talking about how it keeps falling off of your head, there is a simple solution, when you spread the headset wide enough to put on your head you have to press it together until it can't retract anymore then it shouldn't fall unless you are moving your head all over or if you are running with them on.

Bon son, micro d'assez bonne en qualité, mais confort.... inadéquat, au bout de quelque minute le casque est inconfortable avec des coussin serte assez doux mais pas assez épais, au bout de quelque usage le casque glisse et si vous n'avez pas quelque chose comme une queue de cheval pour le tenir il vaudrais mieux éviter ce casque.

Gutes Headset mit klarem Ton am Mikrofon und den Lautsprechern. Am Anfang schmerzhaft an den Ohren, daher nur 4 Sterne.

Non mi trovo molto bene con le cuffie con arco sopra la testa, continuo a spostarlo perche' dopo un po' che poggia su un punto, mi da fastidio.Il problema con queste, invece e' che piano piano la cuffia tende a spostarsi verso il basso. Di per se' il materiale a contatto con l'orecchio e' di ottima fattura: morbido, non da prurito, non fa sudare, le cuffie non premono troppo sull'orecchio, ma appunto, tendono a scivolare un poco.Niente di troppo grave (4 stelle comunque), ma non perfetto.

I'll be brief, the headset was a bit uncomfortable first couple of nights but that subsided and I now barely notice it being on, the microphone has very good clarity and the retrecring is nice. The audio quality is good, great in fact with footsteps and helicopeters in Battlefield sounding great, lovely separation on the sounds.The only downside is the attachments for the set to work on a 360, the voice chat is waaay too quiet and the connectors are very fragile, very fragile. I have just ordered a spectrum audio mixer to fix this but thats an extra £30 to make voice chat audible.If you like the design and want a gaming set you can't really go wrong, for the PC side of things its flawless.4.5/5
