With a proper lightening regimen this product will absolutely work. As with any lightening product you must first exfoliate your skin for about 4 to 6 weeks PRIOR to beginning use.This product causes gentle exfoliation so be careful once you start using it that you don't over exfoliate. This product did not burn nor irritate my skin as it is not sensitive anyway.I did lighten a considerable amount. When I first started I was about Gabrielle Unions complexion (I'm African American) and with daily use I am now a bit more "high yellow".This product, for me, did take away my skins undertones and I look a bit pale. However, this was what I intended. I would say I am at least 4 shades lighter. This DID NOT HAPPEN OVERNIGHT! I used the product over the course of 6 weeks to achieve this. I wold recommend this product to anyone who is looking to lighten their skin.I would also like to add that I used this product in conjunction with other akin lightening products such as Kojic Acid soap, and Carowhite cream lotion. One product alone will not cause you to lighten you must develope a skin care regimen and follow it religiously.

It adds a lot of moisture to your skin, but it does not lighten your skin!
