The A6 is designed to be reliable and robust with a relatively “neutral” sound coloration. This means that you can use the A6 on almost anything and get a great sound. It is especially good for vocals (including voice-over work), acoustic guitars, fretted instruments, brass, harmonica, and drum overheads. The dynamic range was set to allow for moderately heavy sound pressure levels but keeping digital recording in mind, the noise floor is also appreciably low. The A6 is a reliable, “all ‘rounder” studio microphone which can be also used live. ADK President and Founder Larry Villella says: “The A6 can best be described as the most “plug-n-play of all the ADK microphones. It is remarkably open and honest, with a neutral, yet “slightly-front-of-the-mix” tonality. It is a purist ‘straight-wire’ Belgian circuit-design with no switches, bells, whistles or gadgets. The A6 is the best first microphone for any novice, and a great all-around the studio workhorse for the professional.” End-users of ADK Audiophile Mics are a Who’s Who of the Music World for good reason. The ADK Audiophile series of condenser mics were created for critical recording environments and fine acoustic sources. When your tracks really matter, ADK Audiophile Series delivers Stellar Performance at affordable prices. Founders Larry Villella and Brian Hutchison founded ADK in 1998. Their partnership with a Belgian design wizard and a PhD from Australia resulted in a range of superb microphones that quickly became favorites of engineers, artists and producers. 11 years and 50,000 microphones later, ADK is tracking TV shows, movies, and CDs all over the world! Why are ADK Mics so popular? Because ADK creates world-class microphones that superstars adore, yet are philanthropically priced so the average guy can afford them. High fidelity and rugged construction
I used the predecessor of the A6, the ADK A51, for twenty years and loved it's unfailing ability to reproduce my voice, both in song and in the spoken word, with a clarity and richness that I could not hear with my own ears. Only once did my ADK 51 need repair, when a solder connection broke inside, and that was quickly and easily fixed in the studio. Now I've replaced my trusty A51 with an A6, which ADK describes as a "hot-rodded A51." It is indeed a hot-rod mic. The A6 captures even more nuances of my sound than the A51 did. It is scary how much it hears. You should eat before you record with the A6 because if you don't it will record the sound of your stomach growling right through your vocals. This microphone is your most severe critic. Along with your perfect moments in the studio it also records your imperfect moments, the ones you thought you got away with. Use another microphone if you can't bring your "A" game level of performance to the studio when you record with the A6. ADK has remained faithful to its prices, too. The A6 costs no more today than the A51 did twenty years ago when you factor in inflation. 'Nuff said.

Don't let the low price fool you. This is an excellent microphone made by a company that is passionate about sound. I did a comparison test against the AKG C214 and AKG Perception 420. Both of these mics get 5 star reviews online all over the place, but the ADK A6 easily beats both of them for clarity, detail and smoothness - (which are hallmarks of all ADK Microphones)The last mic I owned that had this level of smooth transparency was the Shure KSM44 - and that will set you back a cool Grand right now.ADK microphones are my new favorite - I will be buying more!!.

VERY NICE MICROPHONE!
This microphone is very nice microphone very neutral sounding! This microphone sound very full and thick it has good bottom end which is not muddy or boomy like others. It has just right amount of bass to make your voice sound full and rich. You can hear full range of voice when you record with this microphone and you will not need to use extreme EQ to get the color of tone you want with this microphone. The only downside is I doubt you can use this microphone for amplifying sound through your speaker.Which makes it not a very suitable for stage use, this microphone is made to use for recording if you are looking for microphone to use it as both in recording and live stage I would find something different microphone.Beside that this microphone is excellent microphone!!

ADK 6 Crazy Good
This is a fabulous mic with great balanced detail. The price is so low, it's a joke. I now have three, and they are far superior to my CAD and other mics.
