Just a simple opener but perfect for hanging on fridge where we want it! Heavier metal, thicker plastic (on top) and hasn't broken when I've dropped it! The magnet could be a bit stronger but it has 'hung in there'!

Decent
You get what you pay for. It was flimsy and while opening a bottle it would bend back. Should be a more durable metal. It got the job done but only lasted about a week.

Could have been great, but...
Too bad, this could have been a great, handy little addition to our kitchen. The whole reason for purchasing this bottle opener was its convenience factor-- the magnet on its back, enabling it to be placed on the side of the fridge. However, both metal portions of the opener are bent too far back, and prevent the magnet on the back from being flush with the fridge. It does not stay magnetically attached for long and eventually begins to slide/fall down. Very disappointing that such a classic design was bungled ultimately in the final product.

Works as advertised. Removing one star because on a flat refrigerator surface the magnet doesn't touch, due to either the magnet being to thin or the metal ends protruding too far down. It is still able to stick to a metal surface, but the hold isn't as strong as it could be.

Its Ok
Don't like the magnet on it. Makes it uncomfortable for me to open cans. It is not a smooth handle, it is open in the back to make room for the magnet.

Just what I wanted.
I was in a local restaurant supply store and picked up a pair of what looked to be just like this; but without the sleeve or magnet. They were under a dollar each, so what the heck? When I got home and tried to use one to open a can, it sagged and bent. I looked a little closer - made in China. Pure crap. Now - this on the other hand - I don't know if it was made in the USA, but I do know that the steel is twice the gauge of the crappy ones I bought, and the magnet keeps it on my fridge.

Magnetic can opner
I read the reviews on the Farberware Magnetic Can Opener and it sounded like what I was looking for, wrong. The first time we used it the white plastic cover popped off. You can fix it temporarily, but it does it just about ever time you use it, also the magnetic is not strong enough to prevent the magnetic from sliding down the refrigerator. I'm very disappointed.

Magnet is too weak
The actual jar opening capabilities of this gadget work perfectly fine. But the magnet glued to the back isn't capable of holding it up on the fridge or stove. It catches, but then slides down and off. One would think that whoever engineered this thing would have used a magnet strong enough to hold it up. The whole gadget, magnet included, weighs 1.5 oz, which is a fairly heavy weight for a magnet. Either the manufacturer was not smart enough to realize that they'd need a stronger magnet, or too cheap to make it properly.
