Pencil is practically unusable if you lose the tiny plastic eraser cover. You can't depress the eraser manually, so no lead comes out. Not recommended if you're the type of person who might lose an otherwise useless bit of plastic. Waste of money and nowhere near the standard of other Kuro Toga products.

I love this pencil. I use it for practicing my Japanese letters and kanji. It has even snuck into becoming my sketch pencil too. Comfy and sturdy with a good eraser.

I’ve never put much thought into mechanical pencils and thought the extra costs were superficial. However, after accidentally buying an extra pencil (when the first one was a gift to friend) I’ve been rather impressed with it.I’m not sure how much has to do with the lead included or the mechanism itself, but t writes very well. The only trouble I’m having is finding new erasers that might fit the top end.
