biOrb Magnetic Algae Cleaner

I've sunk a small fortune in my Biorb, but now it looks like crap because I used this magnet. I was really careful,too, but somehow I picked up a tiny fragment of the lava rock that comes with the Biorb, and it etched deep grooves inside the tank. These gauges cannot be repaired. I'm sick about this. If you feel the need to use this algae cleaner, perhaps place a Biorb cleaning cloth between the magnet and the acrylic tank.

I'm not sure what the deal is but when I used this the first time, it scratched the heck out of my tank. The scratches are tiny but definitely disrupts the finish on the tank. It does do a good job of cleaning the walls though. I think if I put some cheese cloth or something between the outside piece and the tank it would help with the scratches.

I was not very impressed with this algae cleaner. It looks great, almost a piece of artwork, but the edges don't really do a decent job of scraping the algae off the sides. The edging needs to be sharper to work.

A handsome product. Praise ends there. Bought this for the biorb (7-8 gallon, I forget the actual size) and it simply DOES NOT FUNCTION. The little silicone blade on the inside just slides across any grime or algae, no matter what technique I try. Completely worthless, in my opinion.

Great way to clean fish tank without getting fingers wet.

I bought this, used it as specified, and it left tiny acratches ALL over the inside of my aquarium. BUY A DIFFERENT CLEANER! This one will destroy your aquarium!

I bought one of these for my Biorb 60. I've used magnetic algae cleaners on my glass tanks for years without problems.The first time I used this it scratched the inside of my tank. Fortunately I noticed after only doing an area about 6cm squared but it looks terrible. I contact Reefone who were totally dismissive. They have a scratch remover for their tanks but you have to empty it first... completely impractical!A few weeks later I decided to try another small area near where I scratched it before. I wrongly assumed that it must have been me and maybe got some dirt or debris stuck between the magnets... nope! Same problem and the tank was clean as I'd just done the water change and cleaned it.I can not believe that this product is still available.Please do not make my mistake, it is gutting looking at the awful scratching on the Biorb, completely ruins it.

nice idea and has taken us months before using this as I usually use the provided algae cleaner pads that come with new filters. Think this marked the tank and doesn't really remove the algae very well. Would not recommend this. I would go and buy a huge pack of their cleaning pads instead.

Excellent product. One piece (padded) goes on the inside and the other piece drags it around from the outside by magnetism. The padded piece floats so if it detaches it doesn't sink! Does a great job of cleaning the bio-orb and does not scratch.

Doesnt work very well it struggles to take off algie I just give it a good clean with the biorb cleaning pads and that is alot easier and does a good job

Not a good item at all scratches your tank when using every time tank looks really bad .. Far too rough for bio-orb tank.. Really dissapointed .. Would not recommend ...
