Great Pull-Up Bar!

Before I purchased this piece of equipment I looked for possibly 3 hours on amazon for all the products available and reading every single review.I finally chose to purchase this bar as I believed it would be the best based on cost, build, reviews.I was a bit skeptical after a few reviews said that the bar was not holding the users weight or they had issues with installation.I was trying to figure out if there were any issues with the assembly and the best way to attach to CMU block. The hardware that comes with the bar has concrete anchors, which being that I don’t have a hammer drill would be hell to install.I decided to purchase some 1/4” Tapcons At my local hardware store(2”-1/4” in length as I wanted to ensure it would grip on the CMU block).Even without a hammer drill, I set my drill to the hammer setting to install and didn’t take very long to have the bar installed. The drill bit should come with the Tapcons, but just in case to those who do not know what size drill bit to use, it’s a 3/16” concrete drill bit.The 1/4” Tapcons fit just fine and I have been using this bar for 2 Months about 3 times a week for all my calisthenics exercises.I’ve attached rings as well and I have not noticed any issues with the build of the bar.I am 230 lbs. and the bar is solid as can be.No issueA with bowing or bending.Great Product!

Solid. Install took some elbow grease

This is sturdy. Assembling it was easy. Installing is going to be completely up to you. Directions are unintelligible. The posts and holes on this are about 19 inches on center, so clearly wider than 16” studs. I knew that when I bought it. I didn’t have the width to buy a model with on-stud brackets Because those tend to be 32 inches wide or more. This one fit my space. As you can see by my pics, I built a 2x4 stringer rigging and attached those to the studs with lag bolts. I used 3/8” x 5” lags and washers. Then I attached the unit to the 2x4s using 3/8” x 2” lags and washers. This might be slight overkill but I don’t want to rip this out of the wall when I’m doing pull-ups. I am 225lbs and it did not flinch with me using it. So far so good. My son who is less than 100lbs will have no problems. Obviously, find the center of your studs. It’s a little bit of a puzzle to figure out how to get all of this to line up and to be level, but if you have hung things like TVs on the wall, you’ll be fine. If you’ve never hung anything heavy before, maybe consider consulting with a friend or relative who has. There are lots of videos out there to help too. Definitely need a good wratchet, preferably with a long extension to help with leverage when cranking the five inch lags. Also, this provides a good anchor for the various strength band attachments.

Good from smaller hands

This thing was a breeze to assemble and install. I got a 2x4 to run horizontal behind the brackets as they did not match up with the studs in my wall. Not a big deal, it will also help protect the drywall from damage.I did deduct a star due to the main pull up bar is very small diameter. I am 6' and 190lbs and holding that bar for more than a few pullups became uncomfortable quickly. I ended up going to the local hardware store and purchased a much larger diameter bar, drilling holes and replacing the bar it came with. This has really helped with comfort.Pro Tip, remember to install it high enough that you need to stretch a bit to reach it. Mine is a bit low, so I have to hold up my feet or I can't hang from the bar.

Installed easy and is holding up great

The pullup bar is exactly as pictured and works perfectly. I would probably widen it a bit if i had that option so i could grip just a bit wider right where the crossmembers attach to the pullup bar, but I can't complain at all because it's exactly as pictured, sturdy as a dumptruck and absolutely gets the job done.

Husband installed in garage for xtra workouts

This is very sturdy and heavy duty. It took some time for my husband to install as instructions not very clear and when he got it installed it was crooked, so he had to use some shims to level it out. Not sure if that was due to the wall itself or the unit. He likes being able to just hop up and do some pull-ups in the garage and not have to drive to the gym.

Fantastic Wall Mounted Pull-Up Bar

This has to be the best wall mounted pull up bar for the money. Of course, I just got it and I will update my review about its durability. Here are the main reasons why I love this bar:(1) It extends from the wall further than any other pull up bar I could find. This is not only great because it adds space between you and the wall (accidental swing / kick on wall) but it worked out great for my purposes (I installed the bar just above one of the garage door tracks... there is plenty of room thanks to its extended design).(2) It has a 6 hole attachment design which allows one to securely mount the bar with six threaded screw bolts. Mind you, the holes are NOT 16" apart. So I securely mounted two 2"x8"x50" boards vertically and securely onto three studs then I attached the bar mount onto the 2x8s, all six holes with a thick threaded bolt screw and a locking washer.Definitely worth it. You should love it, too.

Can work with the some planning

This works well as long as you bring you own backboard and fasteners. The mounting holes are 19” apart to if you have 16 on center walls you can’t mount it direct to the wall. One way around this is to use 2x6 lumber and fix it to the studs and then screw the pull up bar to it. You can also use two layers of 3/4 plywood to serve the same purpose. Either way you have to get your own fasteners. You will also need a 24” clamp if you want the mounting plate to be at 90 straight as they are not after assembly.Overall it took me about 4 hours and a trip to the hardware store to get it mounted to the wall.
