it said it was a spin cast real, it is not a Spin cast reel, it is a close face real, the difference is a Spincast is a open face real!!! it is still a very good real, I am keeping it, but it's not what I wanted, the bike alert beeping sound does not last very long, and there should be a mechanism on it so you can make it louder or softer, and easier to get to the batteries to change them

the only reason wy I gave 4 stares four was the lack no bait runner on the reel I gave 5 if it had one but its all round good reel tuff fighting reel but it lack any true night fishing the drag is not really easy to set it tacks some doing to set it but like I said it a good reel

This is my second purchase of this reel I love it I have fished with the first one I purchased for about 8 years. I was I'll for a period reel was in trunk of vehicle that leaked. alert system does not work but reel works fine apparently water has damaged electronic unit batteries do not help but I still enjoy fishing with the reel. My current purchase is for my wife who loves thenbreel also.

Actually used this for rock fishing from a kayak. Worked pretty good, for this price a steal
