The description says it replaces STV-250N cable. My camcorder uses that cable, according to the manual. When connected the red wire created a loud humming that I could not stop. The cable was of no use to me so I sent it back.

YEP NOTHING LIKE HAVING TO MOVE AND FINDING OUT "GEE I CAN'T FIND MY CAMCORDER TRANSFER CABLE" "I'M SURE I PACKED THEM" YEP HAPPENS TO US ALL. I BOUGHT THESE REPLACEMENTS AND NO COMPLAINTS ON PICTURE QUALITYOR SOUND THEY WORK GREAT.VERY GOOD REPLACEMENT CABLES I RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE, REASONABLEY PRICED GOOD QUALITY TOO.

Woks like a charm

This cable is not a replacement for Canon cameras. It does not work. There is no video and the audio is just a hum like there isn't proper shielding. I purchased a different cable and it worked fine. Steer clear of this. I would have rated this zero stars, but that is not an option. This is worthless an a waste of money.

A nice replacement cord for an old camcorder so we can watch old tapes

Hooking it up as stated by color resulted in no video signal and very loud interference noise coming through.After trying on a few devices to pinpoint the problem to this cable and not other devices, I found out that the polarity is wrong and they wired things entirely wrong. White went to Red audio. Yellow went to White Audio, and I had to reverse the polarity (male plug touching outside of female socket) Yellow to Red for clear video and audio to come through.Only because this is absolutely needed for a project was this not simply returned. I'd save the money and just order the genuine parts.
