Beautiful Weejuns!
I've worn Bass Weejuns for decades. I love the classic lines and their longevity is unmatched. Generally, I get tired of them long before they're worn out. This is my first pair in the "Wayfarer". I do love the "spectator" style and will enjoy them without a doubt. As per usual with Weejuns, they always fit a little bit snugly and you have to "break them in". However, once you do get them broken in, the "custom fit" is unmatched! One important thing to know about Weejuns. As long as the length is right, they need to be a little snug when you first get them. If they aren't, you won't be able to keep them on your foot once you've broken them in.The "Wayfarer Weejun" is a beautifully crafted and designed loafer with a new twist. I've worn the same size in Weejuns for many years and this style runs very true to size. (Weejuns run 1/2 size larger than my other shoes). These beauties are simply gorgeous!

Best shoes in the world.
I love these shoes - I have several pairs. Black ones are hard to find, so I snapped these up as soon as I saw them listed. They are classic - they look as good with my dress pants as they do with my jeans. They will feel a little tight when you first put them on, but that is normal. They will loosen as you wear them and then they will fit like a second skin.

couldn't decide..Washington or Wayfarer?...kept both!
Always loved my Weejuns in my teens and twenties...then kind of drifted toward what my dad called "hooker shoes" for a couple of decades; but now I'm back for good....told my boyfriend to get used to them....I'm wearing them cuz I love them..and oh BTW, what a guy attention grabber my shoes are....not my eyes or figure...my SHOES... men just have to approach me and tell me how much they love my shoes!...They run a little large but I think that it's because Bass does not make a 2A (narrow shoe) any more..so I ordered a half size down on the second round of ordering...will probably have to get heel grabbers, but that is not a big deal....also ordered the Sebago and the Eastlake while I was at it, but no cigar!..no comparison as far as comfort or looks... the Weejuns are VERY rich-looking and look way more expensive than they are.The only thing that I frowned upon was that they are spray-painted as far as color and finish, but they are beautiful and that did not stop me from purchasing..I only noticed this on my Washington tassels because Bass did not spray under the tongue and you can see that if you lift the tongue the difference in color and finish..I will be looking for some liquid shoe polish when I spit-shine these shoes.(my boyfriend taught me how to do that and he usually polishes my shoes)...otherwise I would have given these shoes a five star rating instead of a four!Get them before they are all-sold out!

A classic!
Like some of you, no doubt, I wore Bass Weejuns throughout my college years (even during the hippie years of the 70s) and for a number of years after that. I've always liked the classic, simple style and that they look good with skirts or pants. I've not been able to find these in stores for years, so was happy to find them at Amazon.com.My feet have gotten larger over the years and I now wear an 8.5 or even a 9 on occasion to get the width I need as not many shoes come in wide widths. I haven't worn a 7.5 or 8 in years. I ordered 3 pairs of these Wayfarer Penny Loafers (in Burgundy) to find one that would fit: in 8.5W, 8.5M, and 8W. The 8W fits the best. I wore them around the house for the first few days to break them in and they're now comfortable. I almost always wear shoes with a good deal of padding under the ball of my foot as I have trouble wearing leather-soled shoes without it. These feel good, but my feet do get tired after walking about a mile in them or standing for long periods. I've only worn them for about a week or two at this point and I think in another week or two I'd be able to easily get a pair of Dr. Scholls' pads in them if needed. I'm very glad I didn't go with the 8.5 as they would be much too large given how much the leather stretches out.I hope they will hold up -- so far I'm thrilled to have a pair of loafers again and love the look! The burgundy color is classic and goes with blue/navy, tans, browns, etc. Maybe not as great with black, but do-able.These are made in El Salvador.

Just what I wanted
I had been wanting Penny Loafers for a long time, but wanted leather soles. These were exactly what I wanted. The shoes ran very large for me. I usually wear a 11B, since 10.5 shoes are extremely hard to find, and I have to make do with 11, but the 11B was far too long. Sometimes I can shift to a 10W, depending on the maker of the shoe. I never expected the 10W to fit, but it did perfectly for me. Even then, I had just a little bit of room length wise, so ordered the 9.5W to see it it would fit better, since leather does stretch over time. I could actually get my foot in the 9.5W, which is astounding, but it wasn't comfortable so I decided on the 10W.

sizing strange - please size down 1-2 whole sizes
shoe itself is great, perfect for work, but the sizing is very difficult to figure out. the leather on these shoes is thick, sturdy, and tough, so i did not want a size too small for fear of discomfort and rubbing.my usual size is a 8.5 or 9, depending on how narrow the shoe is (my foot is somewhat wide). 8.5 wide usually works best for me.i ordered these in an 8 c/d (wide) and they are absolutely huge. they fit fine at first, but the third time i wore them, my foot was stepping and the shoe was staying behind. the shoe widened a bit when broken in over 2-3 wears (i believe at the seam), and now that i know they are too big it is too late to return them.i had a similar problem with my bass sunjuns joanne sandal - i believe i have those in a 7 or 7.5.other bass shoes (3+ pairs of saddle shoes from both regular and rachel antonoff line) i've had fit me in an 8.5 (always feels tight until well broken in) or 9 (feels long but not tight).
