J Reynolds JR1000 4-String Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar

Ok, where to begin? I've only been playing bass for about six months and I knida know a good one when I see it. This one came out of the box untuned, every string was touching the neck, the bridge was halfway broken. So I said no big deal, then I happen to look at the adjustment knobs and one was broken all the wiring on the inside had come off. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Even the body work looks like some elementary kid did it. But I guess you get what you pay for. If you ordered one I hope yours comes out better than mine did.

I've been playing bass for 40 years. I've owned some good ones over the years including a '74 Fender Precision and a Gibson Ripper. I wanted a low cost acoustic/electric bass for church and home recording so I purchased a used JR1000. I like its sound and build. It's solid on both counts. I can't comment on the stock tuners since the original owner replaced them with Hipshots. He installed them improperly so it would not play in tune. I spent an hour or so re-installing them and it is now rock solid. For the money I think this guitar is tough to beat.

I bought this J Reynolds bass used from Music Go Round in Lilburn Ga. They had worked on it some and it is really pretty sweet. It is huge and the best 100 bucks i beleive I've ever spent. If you get one and something ain't right take it to someone that can cure it's ills, because it can be a nice bass, worth 3 times the money if it sounds and plays like mine.

I own one of these, and found it to be an excellent acoustic bass, especially for the sub-$200 price range. plays nice, and has a great sound...pretty happy with mine.
