I have tried many book clips over the years. I teach music (piano), so I use book clips on thick books that like to close on their own, or to save ruining the binding. I have my students buy their own book clips when they are advanced enough to have thick music books. I bought this clip for a student recently and when I saw how nice and thick and sturdy it was, I was really impressed. I have bought other clips before for more money that were very basic, plain and thinner (more bendable). This clip looks wonderful too, Its finish is nicely polished; it came in its own carrying case and came with a polishing cloth. I liked it so much, I bought own for myself. Highly recommend!

This is a very high quality music clip. And it comes with its own carrying case and nice polishing cloth. It holds my music books open very well.

Large, beautiful, and well-tooled. No sharp edges. Even came in a little satin-lined case with a polishing cloth (which I will never use). You will not find a better-made book clip.

The first one had a flaw, but was sturdy, heavy beautiful, for myself. I contacted the seller and a replacement was sent. It's enclosed in a soft bag with a cloth, to polish it. I use it for word search books, adult coloring books, every book that it can be used for. I bought it because I loved music, just a item to remind me of my love of music. Would purchase again.

My son plays percussion and we excited to try it out when he received it for Christmas! Very sturdy and perfect for the occasion.

My piano class friends were delighted with this Christmas gift. I secured about the same number of pages on each side, used it on a 622 page book and discovered that I could leave it in place and carefully slip the next page over without removing it. Along the way the pages even learned to lie flat.

Glad I spent a little more, it's very nice, and holds the pages well. Looks nice and stylish as well, would make a good gift for a musician. Exceeded expectation.

The clip is pretty thick and I expect it can handle the size of books it claims it can. While there are definitely cheaper alternatives, they also appear to be flimsier, though I haven't seen one in action.I'm currently using it on a book with 120 pages, with a glue binding, which hate staying open, and the clip is doing it's job. If your music books are thick, I think you can't go wrong with this clip.

This book clip is wider and heavier than I thought it would be so it holds down the pages of thicker books. The stainless steel will never tarnish. A little bit more expensive than some other clips but worth the extra.

These make a wonderful gift. I really appreciated the feedback that I got drom other Amazon reviewers re my questions prior to purchasing. The quality and presentation are great.
