Primal Pit Paste All Natural Lavender Deodorant – Aluminum-Free, Paraben-Free, Non-GMO, Phthalate-Free for Women and Men – BPA-Free 2 Oz Convenience Jar – Scented with Natural Essential Oils

I've been using this for over a month now and I am happy to say that I have finally found the thing that works for me!! I don't have any of the rashes or adverse effects that some other people are reporting at all. It's very possible their pH was not prepared to shift, but I'm no doctor so that's just my speculation.My short story:8 years ago my dermatologist found that I had a minor case of fox-fordyce disease in my underarms. We determined that this was due to the fact that I was shaving and applying conventional antiperspirants shortly afterward; which is not only toxic but ended up plugging up my sweat glands pretty badly. He gave me a prescription for a topical cream and since then I haven't really had another issue but this did trigger my search to find a more natural solution so that problem wouldn't come back. I've never had much of an issue sweating; my problem was always the smell. I'm a clean, thin, relatively healthy girl so it just never made sense to me that I should/could have this problem. I would shower really well and sometimes even exfoliate my underarms but I always ended up having a scent problem barely 5 minutes out of the shower! I have tried just about everything: natural store bought deodorants, home made vodka-based deodorants, apple-cider vinegar, topical detoxes...you name it. This seems to finally be it!!Some tips that work for me:1) Make sure your pH is balanced. Not only for the "rash" issue, but anything natural will simply work better if your body is cooperating. Do a lemon detox (you can google it, or apple cider vinegar.. whatever works for you).2) I suggest you put this on right after you dry off from the shower. Only reason I say this is you want to give this stuff some time to absorb and dry up a bit. If you put this on and then immediately stick a shirt on, it will just rub off on the shirt and no one wants that. So put it on, brush your teeth, do your thing...just try to make this the first thing you do out of the shower that way it's out of the way and you don't waste time letting it absorb.3) It's a hardened paste so it needs some time to warm up and spread evenly. Just be patient and don't force it on, keep it against your skin for a few seconds and then spread it. This could also be why some people are getting a rash. If you're forcing it on without waiting then duh you're going to get red and irritated.4) Don't glob it on. I made this mistake the first time, a thin layer is just fine.5) Don't compare it to antiperspirants. Its not meant to be comparable to antiperspirants because it isn't one. Some people have said it's "more work than just sticking an antiperspirant on" which is a little silly. If you globbed on antiperspirant, or put a shirt on too quickly after putting an antiperspirant on then you have the same problem anyway don't you? White stains everywhere.I'm so sooo happy to have finally found what works! The ingredients make me happy and it smells great too! Finally!

I will try to refrain from writing a novel, however, I do not make any promises. ;)After switching to a natural deodorant a couple years ago, and after the "detox" period your body has to endure to get all those toxic chemicals out, I found that I was still stinky even though I was applying the deodorant up to three times a day. So, I switched. The next one, I experienced the same results. The next one…again…the same. So after all my failed (and expensive) attempts at trying out all the different natural deodorants, and also making my own at home, I came across Primal Pit Paste through my co-op and figured I had nothing to lose. Within one application, I could tell the difference. I absolutely LOVE this deodorant. This is a DEODORANT and not an antiperspirant...you will sweat...that's the point! I do not stink anymore and it's amazing. If you have sensitive skin like I do, the baking soda may cause some mild irritation. So just apply once a day instead of the usual morning and night routine. Did I mention, I only have to apply once a day? Considering I went from applying 3 times or more a day to just once, speaks columns. An added bonus…it scores a 0 out of 10 (0 being the best) on the “SkinDeep” app. I would highly recommend the Primal Pit Paste (I use the Lavender stick) to all. It really does work!!

I had really high hopes for this product as it was recommended to me by a friend. I will start by saying that I was really skeptical about the scent, I usually don't do well with lavender scents, as they usually assault my nose in a most heinous way. With that being said I opted for this scent because it was the only one I could guarantee I know. I really wanted an unscented but wasn't able to find it at the time of purchase. With that being said the lavender wasn't atrocious and I found I actually enjoyed it. It wasn't over powering at all and yet could still be detected throughout the day.Now onto the performance of the actual deodorant. I by know means was expecting this product to prevent any sort of sweat. I am ok with that. My goal with this product was to limit my exposure to chemicals while preventing me from smelling. I'm not positive that the second goal was really accomplished. Despite it's lavender scent that I could still smell throughout the day, I felt there were times that I could also still smell body odor. Now, I don't know if I have lofty expectations for deodorant or not, but being that I work within the confines of a closed car for work, driving people to and fro, I can't really smell badly. And I didn't want to have to reapply throughout the day so that the lavender scent masked my natural odor.If it had just been that I didn't feel I was really preventing bad body odor I would probably have given this stuff a 3 star, maybe 2, because I haven't found any deodorant that really lasts all day without having body odor, including the "clinical strength" chemically ridden stuff at the store. So, I used this for 2-3 weeks following the application instructions each time, just reapplying before going to work, but after about week 2 I started to get a rash in my armpit that became quite uncomfortable and then painful. Since the Primal Pit Paste was the only thing "new" to my daily hygiene habits and I hadn't changed my laundry methods either, I assumed it was the Pit Paste. I stopped using it for a day or so, and not using any other product, and it started to clear up. During that time I noticed the skin in my armpit had begun to darken and turn dark brown, I'm a pretty pale white girl so my skin turning the shade it did was a little weird. After a couple of days with not using the Pit Paste I began to notice that this brown layer of skin was beginning to slough off. I hadn't realized until then that in addition to turning color it was also thickening. I want to make sure to clarify that I had not changed my hygiene habits, besides the pit paste, at all. I washed daily and used a puff to exfoliate each time I showered. I have no idea why the skin in my armpit wouldn't be shedding like normal while using the product or why it would change colors.When I realized the pit paste was the cause of the rash, discoloration, and thickening I returned the product for a refund. I also don't know if it was because of the scent, I may just be sensitive to lavender, or if it was the product itself. I would be willing to try an unscented version and see if that have a more positive affect.In light of all of that I will continue on my pursuit of a more natural deodorant that doesn't cause weird discoloration, thickening, or rashes of my underarms.

I have been using this product for years. They keep your underarm smell great all day long. I do lots of sports and this product is excellent. What I like about it also is it’s texture. It does not stick. Also it last forever. Seriously I use it everyday and just one lasts at least a year, actually I don’t remember when I bought my last one.Highly recommended!!!

I'm not a smelly person overall but do get stink from time to time but this pit paste works amazing even after high stress or exercise days!!
