Overall I love my new bed
I did sooo much research on this darn bed frame before deciding to purchase.I’ve had it set up for about a week and think it’s time for the review.I decided to take the chance and purchase despite the varying experiences of other people. I really wanted it for the color honestly, I happen to have sheets that are the exact same color and yellow walls and just didn’t think typical black or white would look as good as this would. It was also an affordable price which can come with some risks.First of allThe box is HUGEThat being said I’m a 24y/o 5’5” female and was able to carry it inside down a flight of stairs and into my apartment myself. I’d recommend two people to do it more efficiently tho.Nothing was damaged upon arrival. Not all the parts were labeled, a friend of mine ended up coming over the night I was trying to assemble it because I got stuck almost immediately. The parts that weren’t labels we just used our common sense and used the parts that looked like the picture and that worked just fine. I would recommend do this with a buddy, it took maybe two hours with two people so I can’t imagine how long it would’ve taken if I tried alone. There was one part that was severely messed up. It was on one of the metal pieces, where you put the screw in. The hole for the screw was covered by a piece of metal that was melted on somehow. It took like 20 minutes to fix this, we used a flathead screwdriver and a hammer and just tried to hammer it off without damaging the threading. It was very annoying and I was so worried in that moment that I would still be without a bed and stuck with a useless one and be out all of the money. We fixed it tho and were able to completely assemble it.It is squeaky, I think it’s the wood slats, or the metal. Haven’t figured out which it is yet, and it’s not a huge deal to me at the moment but I’d like to hack that somehow, maybe putting something between them like fabric might help?Overall I love the bed. I might be biased since I’ve been sleep on a mattress on the floor for too many years and this is the first bed I purchased myself so there’s something about that that makes you all the more appreciative, but I really do like it. The fabric is nice and comfortable, it’s a perfect height for me to get in and out of bed easily, and there is some room underneath for storage if one were to choose to.If you have the money and don’t care about the color, I’d recommend spend a bit more for something better quality. I was on a budget and was determined to get this bed to match my bedspread so I’m just risky.Purchasing this bed seems to be a roll of the dice.Good luck to future buyers!

The weirdest experience with Amazon
I ordered the mattress-in-a-box first. Don't do that. Then I finally decided on this bed. Ordered it. Amazon took their time shipping it out (about 4-1/2 weeks). I kept checking my phone. Still not shipped. And I have Prime. The rolled-up mattres arrived within the first week and sat... in the box. After 3 weeks I researched to see if it is okay to just leave the mattress rolled up. No. It is not. You're supposed to unroll the mattress as quickly as possible because prolonged compression makes mattresses-in-a-box "deteriorate." Great. Still no bed so I opened and unrolled the mattress atop an old rollaway bed. It looks like I got lucky there but the rollaway is shorter and much narrower than standard twin mattresses so until it's on a bed it fits and it's being used I won't really know. The mattress, is also from Amazon. Finally, at about the 7-week mark, according to Amazon delivery updates on my phone, the bed arrived at a warehouse ten miles from my home. Then 3 days passed, the last update didn't change and I'd had enough so I called. Mind you, the last "update" still indicated the bed was sitting in a nearby warehouse. But when I spoke to the CSR I was told the price I'd paid for the bed had already been "refunded" to my checking account. I'm looking at the last update on my phone and thinkin 'Come again?!' I asked him to wait while I checked. Yep. The purchase price had been refunded a week prior... Nobody asked me if I wanted to try again or accept a refund so the choice was made FOR me, leaving me still waiting, with no update to my order in my Amazon "Your Orders" page. Still plenty in stock... Whatever. Lesson learned: Do not order furniture from Amazon.I ended up buying pretty much the same bed in the same color (in velvet, rather than tweed) from a competitor. I thought that was going to be a mess, too but I happily received THAT bed within two weeks. I hope I won't have any trouble putting IT together (missing or odd parts, weirdly mismatched drill holes...), have fit issues between the mattress and bed or, God forbid, need to order a bunkie board from Amazon. When I spoke with the Amazon CSR (none of this was HIS fault) I asked what happened. He had no idea (no notes in the computer...) but suspected it arrived damaged. But what's left a bad taste in MY mouth are the not-updated messages from Amazon regarding this order, not knowing the mattress could have been destroyed if I hadn't researched the posibility of damage IF left in the box, and the unnecessary waiting when I could have gotten something else long ago and had everything done a month ago.If YOU order, know that 1) The pandemic is everyone's excuse for delays, 2) Wait till you've RECEIVED and put together the bed, THEN order the mattress... then 3) Pray the measurements all jibe and time-consuming (and patience-consuming!) adjustments won't need to be made. Good luck.

Sturdy and retro cute !
I'm in love with my bed! The shape is so retro cute ! I love the color ! Its sturdy and not too tall not too low ...just right !I shopped around for weeks and decided on this one and I'm so glad I did ! Furniture stores had little to offer in mid century style beds . I found a few platform beds but everything about them was wrong .Took about 2 hours to put together . Fairly simple . It's perfect for my mid century themed room

If you have to carry this package yourself, forget it.
The driver left the package on the first floor of my apartment complex and it was opened to one side. I had to push it up the stairs myself, while a gracious neighbor helped me get it into my unit. After the box was completely opened, there was broken styrofoam and ripped tears in the the wrapper. Bits of styrofoam popcorn were everywhere. With a little bit of cleaning after and assembly it worked out fine. It’s kind of like the potential boyfriend you never expect and if you keep with it, you might think it was a good investment. To be honest, had I known the package was too bulky I would’ve ordered a platform bed without the frame. If the bed is being delivered to a house or first floor resident, that would be ideal. If your complex doesn’t have elevators and you’re a sole assembly person good luck! Not recommended for a woman to build alone, but perfect if you got a buddy to help. This is coming from a person who used to decorate/ design room vignettes at IKEA and assembled a lot of prepackaged furniture.
