Works great. Had an old stereo component we wanted to use for outdoors and works well with our newer tv. This saved us from buying a whole new unit.

I originally rated a 1 as I could not get the optical input to work. I used the same cable that was working on my speaker bar but it would not work with this product. I then changed to the Toslink cable provided and it cleared up the problem. The product now works as advertised and I'm changing my review to a 4 star.

Can not get this to work with the digital audio out on my new Samsung TV.

Worked fine would have given 5 stars but I have a Samsung smart tv and when I switch to smart (Amazon,Netflix,etc all I get is feedback..and also wish there was a volume control. Otherwise it does let me use headphones for the tv function

it does convert digital sound to analog as stated, my problem is I have a new Samsung 40 inch 4k smart tv. when using the internet ( youtube, vevo or music apps) all I get is a buzzing sound. So If someone can tell me what I missed in the setup to get the buzzing when using the internet on my tv I might consider giving this unit 5 star rating. I'm ok at electronic stuff stetting up and all so if i can't figure it out there is a lot of people out there like me, disappointed in what they bought. Sorry

I thought I had to get new headphones for my HD tv but this converter works great. I can use my favorite old headphones on my new HD tv.

I bought this to connect the wireless headphone to our 32 in Samsung TV Model: UN32J5205AF. THis TV has only a digital audio output Toslink.However, this DBTech D to A converter did not work. My wireless head phone works fine with another Samsung TV which has analog audio output (RCA pins) at the back of the TV. Thus I plan to return this converter and need to look for the "correct" one.

Great packaging and quality built unit. Allows my analog headphones to work with Samsung's 55" TV model UN55MU630D which has only one digital audio output. I had to change the Samsung's sound output sound settings to PCM. Go to Settings, Sound, Expert Settings, and change Digital Audio Output to PCM. Headphones work and can now listen to television without disturbing others again.
