National Hardware N264-978 V1911S Mail Slot Sleeve in Stainless Steel, 2 Inch

I bought a new garage door & needed to install a mail slot in it. I saw this sleeve as an add-on suggestion, so I bought it on impulse. When I was cutting the hole in the door for the mail slot, I realized that this sleeve was important to protect the insulation in the door. This is one of those things, which are probably much easier to install the second time. It really complicated the installation of the mail slot as the top part of the flap on the mail slot reaches into the opening & was catching on the sleeve. So I had to move the mail slot down slightly to make it work. All-in-all, I'm glad I bought the sleeve & expect it will do its job of protecting the insulation in the door.

Bare minimal quality and material used to produce this. Be careful of the very sharp unfinished edges. Wear gloves if you need to. Bought this as a set to National Hardware V1911 2" X 11" Mail Slot in Satin Nickel. The sleeve is flimsy so make sure the hole you make is large enough, otherwise the sleeve will be squished to fit in a tight hole and it will not align properly with the Mail Slot.Note: be sure to test fit the mail slot with this sleeve on the door right before drilling holes to screw things tight. The Mail Slot door backside can interfere with the sleeve when opening. In other words the mail slot door will hit the sleeve and the Mail Slot door won't be able to open fully.

This product is hands down cheaper on here, than your wholesale supplier. Same brand, quality, just a better price!

Great product industrial made gauge steel works very well for its design.

This did the job. It installed easily but if the slots in the inside and outside of a hollow door are not perfectly contiguous there can be problems.
