NOT CORRECT INSERT IN ANY WAY
Let me be clear . . . this is NOT CORRECT! I'm not sure how others are listing it a correct unless they are all false reviews.I paid $36 for it at the time, and Amazon kept refusing to ship it out. When they finally did, they never RECOGNIZED it as being shipped, so I CANNOT RETURN THE $%%% thing. As far as the product, I ahve a Ridgid 4512 table saw. I bought it 3 months ago at Home Depot. It takes a dado blade and insert, and states said product number. The CURRENT insert is square edged . . . NOT oval. The length from what I remember is close, but this is SOLID METAL and impossible to modify to fit.I will state again . . . the shape is 100% WRONG. SEE ATTACHED PHOTOThe photo I attached shows the original insert on the left. Photo on right is another product also claiming to work but you can clearly see it's too short. But it WOULD have fit if it were longer. THIS product for sale is OVAL (I didn't take a pic of it), and very obviously will NOT work.YOU CANNOT BUY A DADO INSERT FOR THE 4512. PERIOD.You HAVE to make one. get a 1/4" thick chunk of plywood, trace the current insert onto it, cut it out, and then use the rail to hold it in place as you carefully raise the dado blades through it to cut a slit. There are videos on YouTube for it. I did it. It worked.THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU NEED if you have the Ridgid 4512.

Buy same brand for all your inserts.
I have the standard insert that came with my R4512 saw (which I use for beveled cuts only) and this dado insert that are both made of metal. They are difficult to remove occasionally. I have a LeesCraft Zero Clearance Insert that I keep 95% of the time on my saw and its a pain having to adjust the screws each time keep it flat with the surface. Much better to get all your inserts from same brand/model that way adjusting the leveling screws wouldn't be necessary. Sometimes cheaper is actually more costly (in labor, time is money) :)

Fit my R4512 perfectly
I just bought a new R4512 and needed a new dado insert, didn't need anything too fancy, just something that works. This worked great, fits like a glove and my first dados were a 3/4 inch rabbet, well four of them really. Cuts came out perfect. Also did some 1/2 dados as well and no problem there either. I'm using 8 inch blades.

It installed just like the stock insert
It installed just like the stock insert, had to re-level it but overall seems to be fine. Same thickness, same paint color, but it doesn't have the stainless steel "cap" at the trailing edge that the stack insert has. That's not too big of a deal. However, I don't think this is authentic factory equipment though, came in a completely unmarked package with nothing but a whisp of bubble wrap and a concerning shred of chinese newspaper- see picture.

Don't buy it.
I am sure if I had tried to return it as soon as I got it, I would have been able to. But.... I bought it 2 months ago to have in my tool kit and only tried to use it today. I have a Ridgid table saw 4512. I bought this cover for when I needed my dado blades. Two months later, I tried to use it... Here is what is going on. This is NOT a Ridgid fit tool. The body of the insert is too thin so when mounted, it is lower than the table surface. Boards will not cross the table evenly. The second problem is that the drilled out mounting holes are not beveled so the screw set that comes with the Ridgid 4512 does not seat flush with the insert. Anyway you look at it, this is a waste of money if you have a Ridgid table saw. I have not read the other reviews yet, but I will and if someone got this to work, please comment and let me know what all you had to do.

Just what I needed
Fits perfectly in my Ridgid R-4512 table saw. Used it when cutting a dado in a couple of hundred feet of hand rail made from clear KDAT pine. To bad it didn't come with the saw. Oh well....I would recommend it to anyone who needs to use a dado blade with their R-4512.

A must-buy for cutting beautiful rabbits and dadoes on your R4512
The R4512 Dado Insert is the perfect addition to the Ridgid R4512 table saw. I considered saving the money and manufacturing my own wooden insert, but in the end I think I made the right choice buying this easy drop-in insert. I've been using it for two months. It fits perfectly and is made of the same material and quality as the standard blade insert that comes with the saw.I use the insert with the Diablo 8" dado set, producing precise dadoes and rabbits on the R4512. Diablo 8 in. x 12 Tooth Carbide Stacked Dado Saw Blade Set

Make sure it lays flat before use!
This dado throat plate is alright. The little tab that clips the back of the plate to the table might be bent, in which case your throat plate will randomly spring up while making a cut.... very dangerous.Once that is worked out, it works fine.Just make sure it is all adjusted before turning on the saw.

Great fit.
I received the wrong one the first time, but two emails later they sent me another free of charge. They didn't even ask for the old one back. The replacement arrived quicker than the original. It's a perfect fit for my Ridgid 4512 tablesaw and make cutting dados much cleaner.
