Last one standing
I am giving it five stars because I went through many mesh systems (and powerline adapters - all netgear including Wifi6) ..this one is still running my home network while all others went back. I have observed a largely stable signal, and speed ~200Mbps where others would just end up dropping/reconnecting; I have multiple heavy users at home, and atleast one video stream running. It is definitely not perfect - the app is confusing, and maybe signal could have been more stable (I keep having issues on office VPN - so not sure if it is this). But this thing deserves credit.

THIS
I’ve tried every combo of wifi routers to meet the needs of my house, and only this one has been able to produce the goods. I’m covering nearly 3K sq ft of house, with 3 kids that use a computer for gaming plus a minimum of of 2 each additional devices/draws while doing so. I think at any given moment, I probably have no less than 15 things connected to my WiFi. This router handles it all. Basic mesh setups failed me previously due to overall bandwidth limitations, but with the hybrid mesh setup I get with this, I get a high powered gaming router and a mesh extender that can deliver in previously unreachable spots with high speed and with seamless connectivity, The DumOS software works well with the 1.7 GHz processor; it’s intuitive and able to manage your traffic nicely. Overall, it’s a little pricey , but well worth the money if you’ need to run a sustainable, high demand, Internet connection over a large area with multiple gamers and streamers.

Probably not worth the money
I can’t recommend this router to anyone with a budget because for the price you could do better. The TPLink AC 1750 is a much better option and just as stable if you add the mesh option. The App for the Nighthawk is good but the device manager option is 100% broken. The extender works good but it is very large and not concealed easily. Overall the router is nice and the OS is superior to most but I would do your research on issues this router has. As far as gaming this router gives you no advantage and the QOS option is basically similar to other routers. The OS is very intuitive and easy for those who know how to do advanced configurations. Overall I would say look at the TP link option first as I wish I had.

first product that I wish that there where negative stars for...
Where do I start? Just a hot pile of garbage from every perspective. This is absolutely the worst product and support experience in over 20yrs of home networking.I actually don't know what is worse, the cheap plastics and switches, the horrible connection issues, the useless management software/UI, or the the support that's so clueless that there might as well be no support at all.Terrible connection issues and very difficult / impossible to troubleshoot via the myriad of horrible UI's. (full trouble shooting required 2 different desktop browser UI's and 2 different android apps). This combo started having intermittent connection issues literally right out of the box and I wasted too much time troubleshooting that I missed my Amazon return window. Both LAN and WIFI intermittently drop at random. I initially thought that this was an issue with either my ISP or modem, but I was able to determine that they where both totally fine/ working flawlessly. The mesh extender periodically completely loses connection with the router (even though it's well within range) and then devices that are connected to it lose their internet connect, but dont always switch back to the base router. So that results in some devices with WIFI, but no internet connection. The router also seems to experience intermittent stability issues where I will lose connection for 5-30seconds. This is a major issue for gaming or low-buffered live streams as well as my baby monitor (that depends on wifi). The "duma" OS has less functionality than also-terrible (but 10yrs old) Linksys router that it this system was supposed to replace. There is no way of telling which devices are connected to which piece of hardware (the base router or mesh extender) or what the status of the extender is. It will also show both 2.4 and 5ghz radios as "disabled" even when they are active and the network map shows devices connected. At one point I also noticed that either the base or extender had created another 5ghz network with the same name as the main mesh network, but with absolutely no security so anyone within range could connect with no password. the only way to disable this network was to turn off the wifi radios (by pushing the physical button on router because there is no option to do this in the UI). Even though "Guest Network" was / always had been disabled it seemed that it was still some artifact of that because disabling all sub-options under the guest network seemed to prevent it from coming back. When I finally did call support (which is appears to be outsourced to some 3rd party in India) I spent over 4hrs between being waiting, dealing with people who had no knowledge of the product or the troubleshooting steps, and then being placed on multiple holds while they "consulted resources" and transferred me to different departments and levels of support.Eventually, after 2 days and 4+hrs they agreed to an RMA but wanted to replace just the extender first (even though there where also unresolved issues with the router). When I said that I would just resolve the issue through my credit card company, then eventually agreed to a full RMA, but get this, you have to either pay for your own shipping of their defective garbage, or pay them a flat "RMA fee" . Hopefully Prime support will offer me something better or it will be Mastercard after all...Netgear had built a pretty excellent reputation as being the "IT professionals/ enthusiast" choice for their own homes, but this experience has added them to my list of "never again" companies.

SO Much Better than the Linksys Velop Mesh System!
You can read my review on the Linksys Velop Wifi Mesh system. I have a larger two story house, and ended up with a nine node Linksys Velop system to try to cover all rooms, which set me back over a thousand bucks, and was horribly unreliable. This NETGEAR system rocks and covers the house beautifully, and is WAY faster. The app allows me to measure signal strength and ensure the extender is in good spot. Awesome!
