Excellent for the price.
I picked up the Dell Computer E-Series E2414Hr 24-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor when it was on sale for $100, and for the price it has more than met my expectations. I was replacing an old 22" Samsung LCD that served me well, but has lost its brightness. Out of the box, the first thing I noticed is that the monitor includes a VGA cable, but no DVI cable. Seriously? In this time and age, who is buying a 24" 1080p HD monitor and hooking it up with a VGA cable? It would have irked me less if it hadn't included any cable. I used my old DVI cable so it wasn't really an issue, but it just bothered me.It took me less than 5 minutes to assemble and hook the monitor up to my computer. There was no need to install the included drivers, as Windows 8.1 recognized the monitor, model, and correct settings. My monitor did not have any defects such as light bleeding or dead pixels. The default out of the box settings looked pretty good. The "standard mode" looked better than the other preset modes by far. All I did was turn the brightness and contrast up to "80" from "75", and the picture quality looked even better. Images and text are clear. Colors appear accurate. It definitely looks better than my old monitor, but that isn't saying much. I played a couple games to see if response time was an issue, and it wasn't at all. All in all, I'm very happy for what I got for the price. I'm sure you can buy a better monitor, but for $100-$120, I doubt you'll find better in this price range. I give 5+ stars for the price, and 4 stars for performance.Pros:Price.24" LED Backlit 1080p screen.Fast 5ms response timeENERGY STAR® QualifiedWell designed and built.Overall good image and text quality.Accurate color.Cons:Not designed for high end graphics display.Viewing angles are "fair".Pre-set modes other than "standard" are poor.No DVI Cable included.

Surprising value
I received the monitor a couple of days ago and my oh my it has been an absolute wonder! The first thing that gets you out of the box is how big it is, it took up a good chunk of my desk but it looks great. It has a simple design and for $130 it looks good! The screen's brightness is just right and the color gamut is nothing to laugh about. It's certainly not on par with monitors that are much pricier than it but that's not what it's trying to be. I purchased this for my office computer so I can boost up productivity given the extra screen real estate and it surely does help. I was skeptical at first but Dell has always been my go-to for computer monitors and this one doesn't disappoint with it's relatively small price tag.Pros:- Size: It's 24 inches across! Make sure your desk is big enough.- Screen quality: The display is crisp and easy on the eyes.- Good value: I snapped it up for only $130 but I've seen it go up to $150 before. Even for $150 it's a pretty good deal.Cons:- Only arrives with a cheap VGA cable which is fine because it will still transmit 1080p but it should also include a DVI cable like most monitors do!- Doesn't have HDMI or a Display Port. Not a big deal but a bit of a bummer if you're planning on using something other than VGA or DVI.In the end this monitor is a solid purchase if you're looking to upgrade to something larger or if you're purchasing it for a multi-monitor setup. I'm usually weary of cheap monitors but this one was a pleasant surprise.

Pretty good
Bought the monitor in December 2013 for $120, which seem like a good price for this size monitor. Not to most feature filled monitor, but it was a definite upgrade from my 19" that came with my Dell desktop. Setup was a breeze and I noticed it was much lighter than the 19" it was replacing. At first use, the resolution seemed a little soft. As mentioned in other reviews, there was no DVI cable, so I simply used my existing VGA cable for hook up. After many hours of tinkering with settings, I couldn't seem to get the same level of quality of my previous monitor. I replaced my VGA cable for a DVI cable, and Voila! The resolution was much better than before, and much sharper than my previous monitor. Now, the power button is not working properly. It is as if it was pushed in, but doesn't pop back out. Plugging and unplugging works, but is less than ideal. I was able to determine that if I press the Menu button above the Power button, you can hear the Power button pop back out, and it works. The problem is that every time I want to power the monitor on or off, I have to press the Menu button to release the Power button. My fear is when the Menu button goes out; there are only so many buttons on the face of the monitor.Otherwise the monitor performs wells, and I like having the additional acreage. Amazon says I have to contact Dell for warranty support on the Power button issue, so we'll see how well Dell responds.

Not awesome... but functional
Well, for $99... this was a robbery at amazon! I cannot let it pass....Pros: - Price... at that moment - Easy to install, just plug and play (including the stand, no need of screwdriver) - No dead pixels... hell I hate dead pixels and silly CS staff telling me that 3 points in my new laptop is normal! :@ (thanks Toshiba!)Cons: - No DVI cable (really... :@...) - Programmers, you cant rotate to monitor in vertical position. - Is not a gamer monitor (60hz... 60fps... 5ms response... but... for a casual gamer like me... rocks) - $99 is more than enough... for this monitor, I'll never pay more than that, for the current price $160 or so, you can get a better dealEven so,I love it, works great, bargain, perfect size!

Increíble relación costo-características
Se trata de un monitor de funciones básicas, pero cumple las expectativas para ese propósito. El único inconveniente es que no cuente con entrada HDMI ya que sería muy útil.
