Best in class, with all of the bells and whistles you may need.
With all of the monitors out there today, it's hard to tell the good from the bad without performing extensive research. This research needs to be combined with a bit of luck as it would be cost prohibitive for every site to cover the full product line from multiple manufacturers. The monitor that was replaced by the Dell P2014H was a 23" LG with an IPS panel. My prior effort to use a HP w2071d to achieve the desired resolution for a budget computer system resulted in excessive visual fatigue that would be exacerbated when dark images would appear. The backlighting on that 20 inch monitor was abysmal. My priorities for the display were:1.) IPS panel2.) 1600x900 resolution3.) Digital inputThe Dell P2014H appeared to be the best of breed based on the aforementioned criteria. The overall image quality and performance is absolutely fantastic, especially at the price point that Amazon sells it for. On top of a solid image with fairly balanced backlighting (tad bit lighter in the lower right-hand corner, but not distracting or outside of expectations in this range), you get additional features that come in handy:1.) Integrated USB hub: Using an AmazonBasics keyboard, the integrated USB cord was a bit too short for the placement of the mid-tower. Running the keyboard through the integrated hub resolved this issue, and made it easier to connect additional peripherals.2.) Rotating display: While it would be nice to have an accelerometer or gyroscope to allow the monitor to auto-trigger the shift from portrait to landscape format, two clicks of the mouse and a quick 90 degree rotation of the monitor completely changes the dynamic of viewing websites, reading long documents, and even developing websites. The text is crisp and the mechanics of rotating the monitor results in a smooth and effortless adjustment.3.) Adjustable height. The Dell engineers have built a solid and user-friendly stand that permits modification on the fly. Monitors that cost more than the P2014H are normally bound to a fixed stand and may result in discomfort of the neck during extended use.Be sure to download the latest utilities and drivers from Dell's site to further optimize the image quality and power consumption of this display.

Love love love
This monitor arrive packed simply but really well. Easy to put together and super easy to hook up. I had no idea what I was missing with my old Dell 17 inch monitor that came standard with my computer. This screen is beautiful and slides up and down easily for height adjustments, it also turns side to side for viewing. The screen does not appear to have blind spots where you see the screen but not the image. Haven't turned it vertical but am aware I could. My husband thinks it's a little too wide but it's a matter of getting used to. Colors are brilliant! Great monitor at a really affordable price and free shipping. I love Amazon!

Great features, but not quite 20"
Diagonal measurements can be deceiving since they leave some leeway when spec'ing these monitors. The previous 20" monitor was 20.5 diagonal - this monitor is 19.5, but the same width - so buyer beware - these are WIDE seeming, but small for a 20" monitor and VERY WIDE when used as dual monitors. Aspect ratio explains that. They set up easily, and I agree with all the other assessments - they are sturdy, well made units, nice surface, excellent features. A second complaint is that the USB ports are not accessible... they are in the same panel with the video and power cables... you have to reach under and up to find the port and good luck if doing so on a desk you don't have rear access to. Convenient, but not the kind of ports you can use for USB keys and such as they are so hard to find back there. The monitor has a single USB port on the back that is not inside that area, but it too would be hard to find blindly. These would look slick in an ultra modern setting. The access panel comes with a cover as well, but of course, you cover that area and the USB ports are even harder to get to. GREAT PRICE, but the aforementioned 'cons' should be considered.

Excellent Monitor
Best monitor for the money. Amazing range of adjustment including height, angle, and horizontal or vertical. Stays where you adjust it. Great to look at for long periods of time. Absolutely delighted with this monitor. Would happily pay much more now that I know how good it is.

Small, but it's a good match for the Dell 30" monitor
As a programmer, I've been using a combination of a 30" monitor and a 20" monitor for years. This combination works great because the 1600 pixel height of the 30" monitor matches up perfectly with the 1600 pixel width of the 20" monitors.Recently, I decided to setup a similar setup at my shop - and purchased a Dell U3014 UltraSharp Monitor . Unfortunately, Dell has discontinued their older 20" 1600x1200 monitor - but I figured this would work very similarly since it's still 1600 pixels wide (although, it's only 900 pixels tall...).Regardless, it does work; but, not as well as the older model. When turned sideways, it's just a bit too thin to be useful. For example, a web browser doesn't fit very well in that resolution. I have found that Outlook can be kept running on this sized screen, but that's about it.At the end of the day, I'm just looking to expand my screen real estate, and this monitor does that. I just think it's too bad Dell got rid of the older 1600x1200 models since they are far more useful. Personally, I love the wide screens - but I think the 4x3 aspect ratio is better with smaller screens like this one.
