I was really concerned with all the bad reviews these have gotten, but I was pleasantly surprised when my battery tealights arrived.All 12 worked right out of the box, there was no battery tab to pull out, they are a orange-yellow flicker, and they look great for what I wanted them for. I wanted a candle-glow for a home showing without the worry of burning the place down. These look great in the glass tile holders sitting on the bar. Obviously you don't see the flicker in the photo, but you can see the color pretty well. I do think they started off more orangey and have faded to more yellow now, which is fine by me. I would buy again if I ran through all 12 of these. Note: I went to a local chain restaurant last night where I always noticed their frosted glass with flickering candle in them (and it's really a battery-operated tealight); the "candle" part of those was about twice as tall as these. These contain one coin battery whereas I believe the restaurant ones would contain 3+ batteries stacked (and probably would last longer?) The 2 I put out have been running at least 24 hours now and are still flickering nicely. Hope that helps!

I have a brick patio, and the short wall of the patio has spaces in-between the bricks. I've struggled forever with my search for good ambiance candles for these spaces. The regular wax tea light candles tend to blow out easily in the slightest of breezes, even if I contain them in votive holders. These battery operated candles are the perfect solution. You can place them as-is, or put them inside glass votive holders. They look realistic enough to give that good, warm, ambiance effect we're all looking for. Now, I"m still a fan of "real" candles, but in my case, where they just blow out too easily, these battery operated candles are a perfect solution. I have not tested them for a long enough time to say how long the batteries will last, but at the cheap price these are sold at, I'm willing to pay a few dollars for the convenience, even if they only last a few months of occasional use. I ordered a case of 12, and they all worked perfectly. Will be ordering a couple more cases.

These aren't bright enough to work in a tinted candle holder and are too obviously fake to use behind clear glass. The only use I have for them is for places where I don't want the heat to damage the things above it. For example, we have candle holders beneath electronics. I feel like even if guests see these fake candles in that location they will forgive it. Otherwise they would think they were ugly. Sorry fake candle makers...just not close to the real thing.

got these tea lights delivered on time and packaged neatly. i haven't used the lights for my event yet, but i took all out and tested- flickers without being fake looking or annoying. the color of the light is as shown in the picture not bright but low and yellow. they are perfect for what i wanted to accomplish so great!. only reason i didnt give these 5 stars was because its a little flimsy but at $7 i didn't expect otherwise.*****Update 1 month later*****After the first order above, i ordered another two dozens- the seller was different so i don't know if this is why i got slightly different lights from the first dozen. the later sets-the candle 'wicks' were taller than the first set- considering that the tea light itself is short the taller wick looked a little ridiculous but nothing to complain about much because this discrepancy wasn't very visible in the holder i placed them in.All the sets purchased were used for about 8 hours in one go. worked perfectly. nice flicker, good effect into the night and not outages with life in them to go!In the end a great deal!:)

Got the tea lights today, I am very pleased except for one of the tea lights are missing the backing that goes over the battery. Not worth really sending it back over, since all of the tea lights work, even the one that the backing is missing works. Just make sure that all the batteries are pushed in all the way, shipping seemed to have loosened them,. All and all though I am very pleased, will order these again in the white flame. Excellent product and pretty great for the price.

My predicted delivery time was supposed to be December 24th at the earliest, but they arrived on December 18th instead; a definite plus. But they were in a tiny box that got beat up on the way to its destination. When I opened the box there was no packing materials inside to protect them, the 12 lights were just thrown in and sealed and sent on its way, and only 11 of the 12 lights work, good thing I only need 5.

These were actually for someone else, but I tried one before passing them on. I had seen flicker type bulbs before and hoped these would be similar, but wasn't too happy with this one. However, after turning all of them on, we discovered the one I had tried apparently had a battery problem. After replacing the battery, all was good. Therefore, I'm updating my original review. They are being used in a fireplace screen and look great as the fireplace is not being used and is just a big dark space. The Tealights provide interest and light and look great. The problem had been the use of wax burning candles and the acquisition of an over active kitten that thought it needed to climb and knock over the screen. Not a good mix if the candles are lit. So the perfect solution for safety, as well as a nice effect, was the Tealight Candle. Hope my first opinion didn't cost a sale. The family for whom they were purchased love them and that's the main thing.

These are pretty nice considering what I wanted them for. I don't like how they look - a little cheap - but I bought these to put inside of my son's castle we bought him for Christmas last year. The castle is about 2-1/2' tall and about the same width. It has inside rooms/corridors. I bought these tea lights for inside of the castle which looks really cool in the dark lit up. A couple of them did not work, but for the price AND the fact that they EACH came with the 2032 size batteries was well worth the money. Would purchase again but only for limited useage. Again, made/look really cheap, but works perfect for what I wanted them for.

These flickering candles don't run for very long before the battery wears out. Also, the "flame" is very, very artificial.

I run a community art and craft group for people with support needs and earning difficulties. Our current project is to make small ceramic stonehenge-type stone circles and they look great in a darkened room with a nightlight set in the middle, sort of representing the solstices. Real candles are a no no for my students and having seen some battery ones in my local pound shop I checked on line and saw these and decided to give them a try. So glad I did as they are superior by far and a bargain price. They really do look like the real thing with their realistic flicker effect and flame colour. The quality just feels very good all round and the batteries seem to last well. GB.

Effectivement la flamme vacille, mais en trs peu de temps, la luminosité s'arréte. Je déconseille.

Doesnt look like the picture - i cant stop looking at the white plastic and the light is very faint. But hey, i thought id give these a try but having since bought real wax ones that flicker, look real and take AAA batteries, from poundland for a £1 each (Obviously as its poundland!) i'd not recommend these or buy them again. I contemplated whether i am allowed to return them but whats the point - so much hassle. The ones i bought from poundland were church candle size (they had a variety of sizes, scented too) so much greater glow so actually worth it. Unknown how bright these will be but i may try to pop them in a lattern bag or someot, except that multiplies the cost.Bought these for our after wedding party to give the hall were hiring safe light - so I actually need a lot more of something to give a nice light thats not too expensive. battery and normal candles i have now but will need more if anyone has suggestions!!!The good points: they all worked, arrived on time, take one 2032 battery as described - firmly held in clipin battery container - so thats ace, the poundland ones may need cellotape to hold the battery cover on but thats no problem and wouldnt be if these needed the same. the batteries are included, simple switch to turn candles on, and all but one worked first time.These were good value compared to others on amazon or in town where they retail at £2.99 for packs of 4. If you are happy with the "white plastic look" you'll love these - but not quite the beautiful stylish romantic wedding look i wanted for my wedding so these will be behind something because they do look cheap. but they do the job, its up to you if you like them or not.One very good point, placed in a tealight holder behind glass they look really lovely and look real: i placed them on the windowsill to see what my husband thought, and he thought them real and told me to blow them out before i closed the curtains.
