A Photographic Atlas for the Zoology Lab

I actually purchased this older edition to replace one borrowed from a friend but which was largely damaged in a mini-flood. Since then I have obtained its sequel versions for botany and general biology as well as the newer edition of this zoology atlas from the publisher. I am a biology instructor at several community colleges and where appropriate have recommended these atlases to my students. While images can generally be found freely available on the internet those included here are superlative, clearly labeled and the text, while limited is clear and entirely appropriate. It nicely complements that found in the text we are using and is well worth the rather minimal expense in my opinion. If you are investing your time in study of this material get this atlas!

Contains both actual photos of dissections and simplified, clear drawings. However, zero context is given and very few definitions, so if you don't know a term, this book is unlikely to help.

This was almost critical to my success in zoology because of the hidden aspects that a dissection alone could not achieve. This book went into more depth and was a great companion along with "Laboratory Studies in Integrated Principles of Zoology" for every lab I had. Worthy purchase for an optional textbook.

Didn't have everything I needed for Biology Lab and could have had better dissection pictures. Might be good for recreational reading and for basic information.

Like I say it's a good starter dissection guide. I personally prefer the CVA dissection guide; however this atlas is usually required for the animals in the intro to zoo labs so it shouldn't be a problem. It's a good dissection guide.

This book was bought for biology lab. We never used the book. Never even took it out of the package.
