SHANNON BAR SET - SHANNON CRYSTAL BAR 6 PIECE SET WITH SILVER TRAY

To be honest, I saw this set and bought it as a Christmas present for a family member. When it arrived, I took the set out of the box to wash each piece thoroughly and to "test drive" it so I wasn't giving someone potentially shoddy merchandise. BIG MISTAKE, as I am so pleased with the set that I am keeping it.The glasses are elegant, the decanter is decadent, and it all has a weight and heft that makes each piece feel very sturdy. The silver tray is just an added bonus, but fits well with the set and allows several arrangement options. All this at a too-good-to-be-true price.Just as an aside, I am a touch leery about using crystal, particularly after reading about how alcohol has been shown to leach lead and lead oxides from crystal after prolonged exposure. At the rate I drink, alcohol would sit in the decanter for weeks if I didn't pour it back into the original bottles, which kinda defeats the purpose of a decorative/functioning bar set. But I am far from an expert on this matter; this may be a mute point.

Bought this for my friend for his birthday. I was seeing it for the first time when my friend opened it. I was a little bit nervous BUT the set is absolutely beautiful I was very impressed. Sleek classic looking design. Makes you want to touch it very smooth. I am 100% buying one for myself. As for the lead. As long as you're not storing it for long periods of time it's not going to effect your health. You're decanting something to let it breath and to have when company is around. In my opinion decanters are not to store scotch/whiskey, you bring this out when you have friends over. When you're done put it back in the bottle.

This is a great, complete set for a bargain price. Although the crystal is pressed (not cut) its appearance is fine; the glasses and large decanter are solid and of the correct heaviness. The silver plate tray is simple and elegant. Assembling such a set from several purchases would doubtless cost far more.

I love this set very nice

I bought this for my husband and he LOVES IT! Then, we bought another one as a wedding gift for our friend and his partner, and they also loved it. It doesn't look cheap, it looks elegant and everyone has something to say about it when they come home for dinner/drinks and my husband displays it.

This 'crystal' is made in China. Very fine print on the label pasted to the pieces. Its shape and size differ from the other Shannon old-fashioned glasses I already own. Ditto the decanter. The pattern is different when compared to my originals although it looks the same in the picture. Imo it is pressed glass. Not crystal. Cheap knockoff. Don't buy it. Im very disappointed. Shame on the seller.

I'm very pleased with this decanter and glasses. It's a truly lovely set. I like that the glass topper is totally glass with no plastic on the part that goes inside the neck. It was packaged well and arrived safely and on time. VERY PLEASED.

Not the same quality of other Shannon crystal I have bought elsewhere. Some glasses have a very visible seam where the mold didn't quite line up.
