Galaxy Fit for VR gaming!
I bought this as a way of tracking my progress with VR (virtual reality) gaming - I've been using VR for a while now, but only got into the fitness side of it during lockdown. I predominantly use BoxVR, Creed and Everybody's Golf for fitness purposes - and only one of these tracks your calorie burn. I wanted to know how many more calories I was burning per day, per game! But it goes deeper than that - this can also track your heartbeat - and your sleep pattern! This has really helped me with pushing myself further with my exercises, in hitting - and exceeding - those calorie burn targets, and without really trying, I lost 1KG of weight in the first week! I am also slowly improving my sleep pattern, which is helping with overall fitness, thanks to this device.Because I work in visual effects, I spend long, long hours in front of the PC, and I was becoming hunched in the shoulders, walking with a slight stoop. Since I started with VR fitness, using this device as a means of tracking my progress, within two weeks, my girlfriend has noticed a marked difference - and that my hunch and stooping posture has completely disappeared! But the thing I am most drawn to are the sleep tracking results. It records how long you have been asleep - and breaks those hours down into time spent awake, in light sleep, REM sleep or deep sleep. I always thought I was a deep sleeper - but apparently not! You can set an ideal bedtime and wake up time, and the device will log this and chart your progress daily, letting you know your success or failure rate with sticking to that! The only thing I find frustrating sometimes, is that the next day, I wake up - and find that the device has not recorded my sleep properly. It either states that I went to bed two hours before I actually did (!), or fails to show the breakdown of your sleep cycle...this MAY be because the Fit has become disconnected from my phone - and it's all too easy for that to happen: I just walk into another room without my phone, and the Fit is suddenly disconnected...! I would have preferred a connection that has more range before becoming disconnected - but this is a minor quibble for the price. As long as you are aware of this, you can always make sure that it reconnects when you need it to. My only problem is, when half asleep heading for bed, that's the last thing you think to check...! But so far, in a typical week, it might miss one night of recording sleep data accurately, and I can live with that.My only other minor niggle is that I need glasses when reading (but rarely use them!) - and sometimes the numbers can be difficult to read, as this device is small. If your eyesight is good, or you wear glasses all the time, this won't be an issue. What I DO like about the display is that you have numerous options on what you want on the display, and can alter it very easily and quickly, via the phone app, so it will show whatever info you need displayed for whatever task you are performing. For example, when exercising, I have it show the time, calories burned, steps taken and heart rate. For the rest of the time, I switch the steps taken to battery life left. Handy!Battery life is around 5 days...it might go up to 7 days, if I switch the heart rate monitoring from every ten minutes to record manually only, but this is fine by me. Full charge from 0% to 100% takes a good couple of hours though (possibly more - I didn't time it!), but that's on track with most smartphones these days...If you want a small, simple fitness tracking device that won't break the bank - and especially if you only want to track your fitness, then I gather that this is one of the more accurate ones at this price point out there. It does tell the time, give weather updates, provide phone notifications - and I am sure much more than this! - but I only use it for my exercise routine and tracking sleep, and for this, it's perfect for me. I use my phone for everything else, and that suits me just fine!

. . . the amoled screen, is crystal clear, crisp and kind of a beauty to behold
I've not worn a watch of any sort for the last 25 years, having become accumstomed to the mobile phone fulfilling that purpose. As phones have got bigger and more prone to damage, I have been more reluctant to have it on my immediate person, especially as I do enjoy a bit of me time and don't always want to communicate with those who seem to think I provide a 24 hour service. Sorry guys.First, it has to be said this isn't a fully fedged smartwatch and neither did I want that, especially at the price! What I was after was something that would alert me to a call or other communication so I at least knew who I was ignoring, whilst at the same time providing some kind of health monitoriong. I tried a cheaper brand to start with, but was quickly disappointed by the poor touch response and, more problematical, I couldn't read the screen. As I already own and very much like a Samsung Galaxy Note 9, I thought I would try the Samsung Galaxy Fit, to which this review pertains. The first thing I would comment on is the amoled screen, which is crystal clear, crisp and kind of a beauty to behold. The text is clear to read and the touch response is as good as my phone. I have the phone linked using the Samsung App, it's primary purpose being notify me of communications received. This it does very well, providing caller details re phone communications and a text summary re others. The main screen also shows the time, date, weather, battery level, heart rate and Kcal energy useage count. The fitness tracking is comprehensive, especially when used in conjunction with the Galaxy Note. Sleep monitoring is very reliable and battery life excellent at 4 days or so.For the media junkies out there, this doesn't play music, doen't allow you to make and receive phone calls and doesn't have onboard GPS. If you want these, this isn't the device for you. If you just want a very accurate fitness tracker with excellent added value and the best screen around this is for you.

Samsung Galaxy Fit shows GREAT VALUE!!
Had this watch on for a full day now after getting it yesterday and initial impressions are good. First of all it only cost me £49 in a special offer. The watch itself looks and feels good. Charging is easy as it uses a Magnetic dock, so no need to disassemble anything. I used the adaptor from my Samsung phone to charge via socket. It also can be plugged into a usb port.Screen information is highly customisable. Features like steps calorie, heart rate, stress, water intake and sleep. Even has a screen and information for the weather! You can get notifications from social media etc but I've turned all these off after checking they work as I primarily want it for fitness. It's good to know I can connect with Instagram, emails and txt etc if needed. The app to connect to my phone was easy to sync. It was already in my phone called "Samsung Wearable" and lets you change the look of your watch screen and let's you choose apps you want on each page. So much available to customise so it will suit most people.First day step count seems accurate enough. With data sent to the phone on how long I walked etc. Battery after first day and a bit is at 75 % but I'm expecting it to last at least 5 days (something I will look out for).5 day test UPDATE! Step count is fine as long as you walk with a correct arm motion which I'm sure we mostly do. Even jogging pick up the right amount of steps. Battery had to be charged after 4.5 days but this does include the initial software update. Full charge took over 3 hours. Hopefully it will last longer this time. Syncing to phone is working fine. I manually don't a few time a day and it records everything in want well.4 month test Update! Everything is working fine. The updated information you can see on your Samsung phone app is very detailed. Battery life has been around 3.5 days for the past few months now.
