7 Piece Reusable Ice Packs for Injuries, Gel Ice Packs for Cold Therapy

I originally bought these ice packs to help reduce swelling following foot surgery, and they worked very well for that purpose. They freeze relatively quickly and remain cold for a reasonably long time before warming up during use. After I no longer needed them for their original medical purpose, however, I discovered an unexpected second use for them. I place one flat against the back of my backpack cooler and the other against the front. I still use a couple of frozen gel packs in the middle with the food and drinks, but these large ice packs significantly improve the cooler's ability to retain cold. I think of them as a sort of "sacrificial insulation." At the end of a long day, both of the large ice packs will be completely thawed, but the food and drinks between them are still ice cold. In other words, they seem to absorb a considerable amount of the heat that otherwise would have reached the contents of the cooler. I expect they would work equally well laid flat on top of the contents of a chest-type cooler. That second use has made these ice packs much more valuable to me than I originally expected. They performed very well for their intended purpose and then proved useful for something I had never considered when I bought them. I gave these five stars because they have provided an unexpected benefit completely beyond their intended purpose. They are useful, versatile, and have earned a permanent place in both my medical kit and my cooler.

Originally I bought these as cold packs for a Hydrapeak. The size and light weight is perfect for this. With the cold packs inside, dry items such as chocolate to enjoy at the end of a hike, or sweet treats for the smallest family members, stay cool and fresh -- even when left in a car that's green-housing up to very high temperatures. Since I've owned them, I've found additional uses for them. They are fantastic for spot application for an injury. Because they can be used as hot packs and cold packs, and because multiple packs are in a box, they can be used for alternating heat and cold -- which can be very effective for some types of healing.

These showed up with one leaking but aside from that they work really well for both hot and cold applications. They wont freeze solid and can get very hot fast. The gel allows flexibility giving them the ability to contour depending on the area you will be using them. When using cold, the small ones do not stay as cold as i would like so i "freeze" multiples and switch them out when needed.

I actually bought these to use when grocery shopping during the summer. I keep them folded up in the freezer, then stick them into my grocery cooler bags when I go food shopping. They are fairly flat when unfolded, so they work great by placing one on each side of my cooler bag. I then just stick all my frozen and cold food into those bags and they work great to keep my food from completely melting on the way home. The bonus will be if I ever need them for my muscles or joints, I can use them cold or hot. Actually, these should also work great when I'm toting hot food somewhere for a dinner or party.

These were great for post surgery. I love that you can use them for hot or cold.

Not a fan. These don’t last long enough to do any good. I wouldn’t recommend.

Check the sizes before ordering. They were a bit smaller than I was expecting but true to the listing size. They work excellently as cold packs and decently as hot packs.

Love the varied sizes and they DO remain fairly pliable when frozen. They didn't stay frozen as long as I had hoped...I'm using these in a turban during my chemo to try to save my hair. But it's a great value...you get so many in a package...so I ordered two sets so that I can swap out. They are easy to fit into a good configuration in the turban for good coverage. I recommend.

Heb deze gebruikt ivm een ingreep aan mijn oogleden. Het kunstof waar de vloeistof in zit is zeer stevig en de verschillende maten zijn perfect voor het geen waar ik het voor gebruikte. Meestal worden ze te groot aangeboden, maar deze waren perfect.

I ordered these after a brand name I ordered did not perform as advertised after a knee surgery. These work just like they should. Stay cold long enough for the 20 min recommended time. They are big enough to cover the whole area at once. The fact that you get 4 is a plus. You always have a backup even if you want cooling for longer period. These do not have a strap but i just wrap an ace bandage over it to keep em snug. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a quality ice pack.

This products was put in the freezer for 2 weeks and when I took it out to use, sadly, it was not cool as expected!!! Total waste of my money. Wish I could return this!

Purchased these and have to say I really like the material they're made of. They're easy to clean and I believe they'll last me for awhile. Do be careful when heating them in the microwave better to do a few short duration tests to find the right time in microwave instead of one longer test - I ruptured the first one I tried, but has been working perfectly ever since. Company stands behind what they make.
