Tsukineko VersaMagic Ink Pad Beige, Wheat Large Water Based Air Drying Decorative Embossing for Thin Paper, 9.9 x 6.8 x 1.9 cm

I have many versamagic ink pads and have ordered many ink pads from amazon with no problem. This time was the exception apparently. This pad arrived sealed and upon opening it I was surprised at how "flat" it looked. Versamagic ink is pigmented opaque ink with almost a sheen to it when applied to paper. I pressed hard against a sheet of plain white paper and nothing happened aside from a few marks from the edges, it is 100% dried out. That is beyond dry, it is like heat damaged the pad. The other thing I found odd was the color. I LOVE fall and have oodles of cardstocks, pumpkin dies, etc. In other words I have colored my share of pumpkin stamped images with Copics, used watercolor pencils on them etc. This inkpad is not what I would call pumpkin spice. I should also note I hold a degree in graphic and commercial art and used to be a purchasing agent for Art and Drafting supplies ( I ordered paints and pastels etc in all forms and brands and know my hues and shades). This is not orange in any way, shape, or form. It is gingerbread if anything, more brown than orange and lacking any type of copper/fall type quality you might expect from this ink and or a fall branded color. Amazon is great about refunds so I will just call and have it taken care of and order something else. I specifically wanted this type of ink for using on black paper. Sadly it is 40 miles one way to a craft store here and they do not carry these in stock so I am stuck having to gamble with ordering online without first seeing the product. This time was a loss. I rarely give such a low mark on a review but this one was a total loss. The one star is for Amazons ease of getting my money back, any other company would make you jump through hoops.
