Mad River Harmony Cane Seat

Bought two sizes of these and added them to the canoe. The have to be cut to fit and careful placement of the hole is a must. I cut them along top side at the proper angle then transferred them to underside wedging them into place drill down from top. Then I removed the piece and sanded down the ends to give them a little room for expansion. All in all worked out well.

The width of the wood seat is much smaller than the original Old Town making it a difficult fit

Replace a seat

The caned area of this seat is wider than the original panel in my Stowe Mansfield canoe, and more comfortable!Super easy to install by using the old seat as a template to mark where to cut. Great quality. Made in USA. Seems like it will last a long time.I originally bought one seat to replace the broken original, then bought a second to replace the other seat that was still intact. Now I have 2 matching seats that are comfortable and look just as good as the originals.

I purchased two seats to replace the ones chewed up by squirrels. I had to cut them to size to fit the canoe. They are a great fit and look really nice.

Seat was a perfect fit for my year 2000 Mad River Explorer Royalex 16' canoe.Installation was easy, I just used the existing seat as a guide and cut the new seat to width using a miter saw. After that I just had to drill holes for the bolts on the canoe (again, used the current seat as a guide).Only difference I could tell between the stock seat and this new seat is that the actual "seat" part of the seat (where the cane webbing is) is slightly wider than the original seats (in 2000).

Distance between rail supports were slightly off from the previous that were bought at a Mad River dealer but I made them work. Cleanly made and look good.

Just a couple inches short for my middle seat but I made it fit. I will see how it works out. Harmony Cane Seat (Natural finish, 32.5-Inch)
