Over-Rated Condition
Monitor works. Seems physically well made. Several heavy scratches. Missing a cover plate. Would have rated condition as average or below. NOT "very good". Came very well packaged. Included video cables. Also a power supply for some other product. Not impressed, but reasonably satisfied.

Not the worst monitor ever made, but light-years away from the best.
It's disappointing that the 32" version of this monitor receives so many rave reviews. However, the one I received was plagued with problems. For the PROS: The monitor is well construct, stylish, with a very adjustable base stand. Clarity of the image was good as well.Unfortunately, however, the CONS win. Monitors are firstly supposed to have a quality picture with good color reproduction. This monitor does not. Worse off, the options within the menu are few, and most are non-adjustable whenever a non-custom "Samsung MagicBright" options is chosen. If you enable "Dynamic Contrast" the monitor EVEN DISABLES BRIGHTNESS CONTROLS, so no dimming the backlight. Really?Overall the monitor has a very warm color palette, whites are actually yellowish. No matter how much I played with the 3 different options for color intensity, I couldn't get it to display a white, it would always be reddish or yellowish. Even more comical was watching Black and White TV show on it, and it was very discernibly yellow and white. So the lack of color control, and the no options for adjusting white points. I found no options to adjust color saturation or intensity at all. The purples always come across "blue"ish. This is when comparing it to the Asus 27" PB278Q ( ASUS PB278Q 27" WQHD 2560x1440 IPS DisplayPort HDMI DVI Eye Care Monitor ...So aside from absolutely horrid color reproduction, and over-saturation of wrong hue colors, the monitor had one more FATAL flaw. The input lag was unbearable. Moving my mouse cursor was actually like moving the cursor through syrup. It was delayed. Attached is a picture side by side of the Asus PB278Q and this monitor. (The right side is the PB278Q, the left side is S27D850T) So, the input lag on the PB278Q is measured at 17 ms. The Samsung monitor on the left is 32 ms SLOWER at refreshing than the monitor on the right. So I calculate the input lag of this monitor to be ~49 ms. Now, 0.049 seconds may not sound like a long time, but when you expect your mouse cursor to be in sync with your movements of the mouse, it become very distracting and noticeable. I kept overshooting where I was placing the cursor due to this 50 ms delay. For a computer monitor 50ms is pretty abysmal. That was this final nail in this monitors coffin.

Came in an absolutely massive box which the box obsessed guy here at work should love, he just loves them for some reason
Had it delivered to my work so Mr. UPS man couldn't pull the ol razzle dazzle on me by trying to deliver it when I wasn't home. Came in an absolutely massive box which the box obsessed guy here at work should love, he just loves them for some reason. Anyway, plugged it in to check and make sure it worked right with no lines or dead pixels and it seems to be working perfectly fine, even from the "No Signal" box going around I can tell the quality from 1440p ain't no joke. It's really heavy too but I don't have a problem with that because the height adjustable stand is rock solid and there is virtually no wobble at all. For me, the included cables were the power cord, HDMI, HDMI extender(about a foot and a half), DVI, USB A/B, Display Port, and a Display Port to Mini Display Port adapter. The power cable also doesn't have a brick attached to it, which is really nice. Nothing else I can really say at this point without being home to test it, I wish I could hook it up at work and start using it right away but sadly none of the work PC's support DVI, Display Port or HDMI so I just repacked it in it's box for now. I intend to use it for gaming/movies mostly so I'll keep an eye out for the response time because I saw another guy saying it was pretty bad and I have another 27" IPS monitor at home as well so since this is a PLS panel i'll do a side by side color test and see what's what. But yeah once I get home I'll do a more in depth review and update it here.

Pretty nice monitor but have had several issues
Pretty nice monitor but have had several issues. First one I received had several dead pixels grouped together and it was pretty bad to look at. The replacement also had several dead pixels but they where fewer and separate so it was not nearly as noticeable so I decided to keep it. Comparing this to my previous monitor I also bought on Newegg which was a Dell model but was a 24" 1920x1200 vs this 27" 2650x1440. The dell had no dead pixels at all. The overall build quality of both monitor seem to be very close although I like the stand of the Samsung much better in addition the to accessibility of the USB ports as well as them being 3.0 vs 2.0. I also like that the Samsung has more input options as well as the ability to pass through audio from computer analog audio out, HDMI, or Display port. What I do not like about this monitor is that Although it looks good I just cannot seem to get the picture just right. This is especially true of the contrast which in some games makes it hard to make out details and see enemies in darker or high contrast areas such as a scene in which sunlight or the skybox contrasts with the ground. I did not have this problem with the Dell and I will probably try to get a calibration tool before I give up on this monitor.
