Read reviews on this motor. Lots of different opinions. Also there were a lot of refurbished ones for sale. I thought for sure bugs had to be worked out by now so I bought a brand new one and was delivered about the first of March. Installed it and seemed to work OK, but if you turned it off and then right back it would not run. Up and down worked , but no power to the prop. Customer service told me to take it to a service center. Now this is only after having it two days. Well they said needs a new mother board. Now its at the end of April and still in the shop waiting on a new mother board. I should have listened to all the bad reviews and steered clear of this product. Even the repair shop did not have nothing good to say about this Minn kota motor. Update: It has been several months later and it is still in the repair shop. I have checked on the progress several times and I was told the motherboard is the problem. They said Minn Iota does not have a replacement and one would have to be built and they are still waiting on it. This is inaccessible. I am still getting the run around from customer service. Now would you buy a product that has these problems associated with it?

Walleye fisherman's Friend
I have had one of these on each of my last three boats. The auto stow and deploy is effortless and the articulated steering makes turning a breeze. When they first came out there were a few problems, but my current one has been perfect for the past four fishing seasons. If you like to backtroll for walleyes, this is the motor you want. Make sure the wiring you use is heavy enough for the motor's draw. I usually fish for 5 to 6 hours and have never run out of battery power. I suggest you use AGM type batteries for the longest life. This unit is expensive for a transom mount trolling motor, but if you fish a lot, it may well be worth the price. It will also make your back happy if this is an issue for you as it is for me.

Super
I purchased this motor when it first came out several years ago & as usual when your first in line you become the proving ground. I had a lot of problems that were caused by Minn Kota issues that they have resolved. This is the only way to go if you are running a tiller outboard. I am a walleye fisherman & this motor is sweet.
