C247d - DVI to Apple Cinema Display 24-Inch 27-Inch

This item is advertised on both the manufacturer's web site as well as Amazon's description as supporting the 27" Apple Cinema display. While technically true (you can attach the display, and see an image), it is nonsense, as this is a single DVI interface, which is limited to 1920x1200 resolution. The 27" has a 2560x1440 resolution, which requires dual link DVI. Seriously -- who would want to pay the $900 for the Apple Cinema display and another $130 for this little device just to run in a non-native resolution.Now, I'm sure the device is great for the 24" display (which is probably what it was meant for originally), but it's just not the right adapter for the 27". The only device I could find that actually does dual link DVI is the Atlona AT-DP400. Unfortunately, that device costs even more, but at least it actually runs full resolution on this monitor.

I call this a 1% item because that is about how much of the time that it works. This is supposed to be a plug and play item, and about 1% of the time it is. The other 99% of the time it just doesn't seem to want to work. Communicated with the manufacturer and they say I am doing everything correctly, but still it doesn't work. Next step is to return to manufacturer for a replacement. Hope that cures the problem.
