Great unit, but watch out for a faulty display...
So I've had this device for over 30 days now... the device is super easy to setup and use. Just make sure you have enough space around your cigarette lighter to move and shape the cord to the correct location. Otherwise you won't be able to see the station you are turning to. Which leads me to the display... the reason I gave it a 3 out of 5... After 2 weeks the display started missing the middle horizontal lines. I thought it would just go away but has not and don't feel it will. Perhaps it is the cold air we've had along the Mid-Atlantic East Coast, but still, very frustrating when you have to guess numbers. Was disappointed. Now I give up.
After several months of use, I'm about at the end of my rope with this thing. It seems to drop its connection periodically for no reason. People report very inconsistent voice quality. I get a fair amount of static through the speakers as well, despite living in a fairly rural area with plenty of unused radio stations on the dial. I'd hoped for better performance based on the other reviews.Update March 1, 2016 --I was contacted by the company shortly after posting my previous review and they graciously sent a replacement unit in the belief that the original was defective. I've waited several months before returning to update my comments. In short, I've had it with this device. It does do one thing well: I am quite satisfied with its basic audio playout of audio from my phone. The problems I have are many:1) The heavy, magnetically attached unit disconnects slightly if you hit a significant bump, causing the connection to drop.2) The weight of the head causes the entire unit to swivel in the socket, eventually working its way free and causing the connection to drop.3) People cannot hear me at all on speakerphone. I've given up and when I received calls I actually just turn off bluetooth and use my phone's speakerphone capability directly, which entirely defeats the purpose of the device for me.4) The phone does not pick up and send voice commands to the phone with any reliability whatsoever. It will occasionally pass along the "OK Google" command sufficiently to initiate a voice command, but subsequent text arrives at the phone so garbled as to be entirely useless.

Great sounding device for the cost, but.....
I have tried a few different FM transmitters. They all sound awful, This one sounds pretty good, of coarse, not HD quality-built in high end sound system great, but good as an easy inexpensive alternative to spending hundreds of dollars replacing the car stereo.. Easy to set up and to use as well. Nice easy access controls make it easy to pause, forward or reverse music. That said, it broke 2 weeks in use. I take the head unit off its mountable stem when I leave the car. The bottom metal end stayed stuck to the magnetic base and separated, one of the exposed power wires broke off. Looks like this piece just snaps back together and wasn't glued together.I'd advise, if you buy this or own it, be careful when removing the unit from the magnetic base. Don't twist and pull it off, just pull it straight up and off, and you may not have any problems. Or just leave the head unit connected to the magnetic base and pull the complete unit off from the power plug.I brought this for its easy removable capability but since the head unit, in my opinion, is not well designed to be removed and replaced repeatedly, I will find another one with the same sound technology that has a lower profile and doesn't obstruct the center console controls of the other car functions.6/23/15 Update, "They" sent me another one to re-evaluate. Since the first one I brought broke, I couldn't evaluate clearly, the reason why it failed. After examining and testing the new one, In my opinion, the magnetic connector design has an issue, if you try to remove it by angling it off its base, you can break it. This is why: the magnetic connector fits snuggly into the base unit (power source), there is a 1-2 mm edge that fits over the base. If you try to angle these two pieces apart the edge catches the base unit and can cause an angled force that can break off the end piece of the unit. That's what happened to mine. I didn't have it very long (a few weeks) before it failed.I have been using the new one for a few weeks now and have repeatedly removed the unit from the base many-many times (pulling it straight up and off) without it breaking. Although, sometimes you have to pull pretty hard to get it apart, that's why I resorted to angling it off.If you are not going to remove the unit from the base, you don't have to worry about this problem, if you are, just pull it straight up and off (they should include as a warning in the instructions).

Amazing device! It's just over a year now and ...
UpDate:04/19/16 Well, My troubles move on. I was trying to fit the two parts together to make it work, when the goose neck broke off from the part that goes into the lighter. Still and all, I'm gong to buy another one. Even though it didn't last very long, it's still the best I've even had. I guess that shows just how good it is, when you buy it knowing that it's going to break.Amazing device! It's just over a year now and I have to say that this is the single deviceIt has worked great this entire year, but I'm having some trouble with it now, which well could be my fault. You see, It has two parts to it: The tube like transmitter itself and the gooseneck holder that plugs into the lighter. It's designed to come apart so you can carry the transmitter with you to prevent theft. I've never worried about that, in fact once I set it up, I never had to do anything too it, but pair my new phone.Until last week, I was sitting in traffic wait for it to clear. So I took it apart to just, see you know, what it looked like. Since then It's never connected correctly again. Any bump, any jar and it loses connectivity and I have to re-pair it. I'm not sure what what I could have done to it, it's pretty simple to hook up, but it's to the point that it's unusable. Even so, I say get one of these as it's the best out there, but don't ever take it apart.
