For fan of shows that are full of fun and hijinks like Azumanga or Cromartie. Also a gun enthusiast will get a kick out of how the characters traits stem from the characteristics of the various guns they represent. Sure there's a hefty helping of perversion mixed in, but what gun owner doesn't feel a little love for his/her favorite rifle.

The idea behind Upoote is very interesting. How could a weapon be anthropomorphised? So you end up with middle school girls who are weapons such as the M16 personified as young girls. There are some fun double entendres and verbal jokes and hints at a plot. The main villains are all variants of the Ak-47 (kalash-kock-offs anyone?). It's a bit of a shame that the plot elements feature in only four of the episodes. If you like fan service then this has a lot of it. But with the fan service and puns this comes very close to Lolita. The new teacher who is mentioned in the summary on the box doesn't really feature in the stories that much and I think they missed an opportunity with not discussing the back stories of some of the teachers at the school. You do have to feel sorry for L85A1 though.

This is a very good anime. Adorable girls, light humor, and accurate gun facts make it a joy to watch. It is full of fan service, which I know is not for everyone, but if you can get past that, then you will probably enjoy Upotte!!.

It's a fun little show. The premise is a bit screwy but fun.

Arrived int he mail as expected, Cd's and case in good condition. As per the show, be advised there is a large amount of firearms and militaria trivia...between the large chunks of fan-service and innuendo.

Like many soft porn shows: many teasers, little shown... the unusual girls are guns theme is novel, BUT we never find out exactly what type of beings these are. In this alternate reality there are many entertaining situations... BUT I feel the sexual teasing should be more fulfilled, after all these are not real girls. This is such a distraction, it should be fulfilled or just dropped in favor of the plot and character development. If patient you'll have to wait for the very last show to see these weapons uncovered and more of their personalities revealed. Could be more entertaining if specialized on or off the sex theme. Blue-Ray is wasted on this plain-jane video. Still worth a watch, don't let the cover art mislead you into thinking there is much if any real sexual content, it's just implied and then concealed. The picture is as revealing as it gets for most of the show...LOL

If you like military stuff and pretty girl anime, then this anime is for you.

would liked it to be a bit longer but it was still a brilliant watch

If I’m being honest the best parts of this are only if you know a lot about the gun history of the L85, and the M14, because the contrast of knowing said history ties in really well with this anime. Also it’s a bit, all over the place in the first episode, because it seems like it’s trying to be an Ecchi atypical genre, but it really is more historical with some action in it. Also one part in particular made me laugh, cringe and uncomfortable all at once, involving a certain Finnish AK variant. Anyways, if simplistic Ecchi tied in with some historical references and some pretty great action shooting scenes, it’s pretty much something of a niche in my opinion. It shows too, this was only a 10 episode anime, with one OVA, it wasn’t even a full season.
