This Danedar loose tea is very good stuff. Strong and flavorful the way I like hot tea. I use 1 teaspoon per 6 oz. of hot water, steeped for 3 minutes and its wonderful. Only thing I find odd is that the best by date was covered with a label that said it was good till 12/26. Peeled that off and the manufacturer printing said 5/24. Hmmm. But hey, it's still good so I don't care.

Good iced tea is the solution to anyone who pays a lot for unhealthy carbonated beverages and lugs them home from the grocery store. The directions describe making a cup of hot tea from a teaspoon or tea leaves. They must like their tea strong! By my estimate, I'll make 60 gallons of fairly strong iced tea from this one large box of loose tea. Incidentally, the box is bilingual. Half is English and the other half is Farsi, Persian or some other Middle Eastern language. Warning To Brits And Other Tea Snobs: Stop reading now. To make half a gallon of iced tea, I microwave five cups of water in a large Pyrex measuring cup with a rounded tablespoon of Lipton Yellow Label loose tea for eight minutes (just short of boiling) and allow it to steep another 3-5 minutes. Unlike an infuser ball, the tea leaves are free to circulate and the tea diffuses quickly. Brownian motion for the win! I pour the tea through the Schefs Premium Tea Filter (purchased on Amazon) to trap the loose finely cut tea leaves, and I add filtered water to make two quarts of tea. The tea filter does a great job of filtering. Part of that may be the result of the premium Yellow Label tea not having much tea leaf dust that can slip through the tiny holes in the tea filter. My tea is almost entirely free of tea leaf silt and it tastes delicious. I drink it unsweetened throughout the summer. Pro Tip: If you like lemon in your iced tea, get a KitchenAid mixer and the citrus juicer attachment, buy bags of lemons in bulk, squeeze them and freeze the juice in ice cube trays. Drop two lemon cubes in the tea filter, pour in the hot tea, and the pulp remains in the filter with the tea leaves. You can also make instant lemonade with a lemon cube, a tablespoon of sugar and a cup of water. Stir until the lemon melts and add ice. I keep frozen lemon and lime cubes. They're great for cooking too, anytime you need fresh lemon or lime juice.

Garbage. This is not loose leaf tea, but just ground up leaf (I assume) powder. Looks like mud after brewing through a single coffee filter. More premium teas I didn't have this issue at all. The other teas actually look like bits of leaves and I can brew through one coffee filter and the tea is clear not cloudy like this junk. I ended up filtering this tea through another double coffee filter and it was not as cloudy, but not clear like other teas after just a single filter during the brewing process. For the record, I'm just looking for a decent tea to make sweet tea. I have no issues with other loose leaf teas. As for taste, it was very bitter even after sugar being added. 'finest blend' so called premium tea. The photos show the tea after being brewed though one coffee filter (looks like mud) and the second is the tea after brewing in my compost bucket. The picture of the tea in the glass is what only a little bit looked like after running through 2 coffee filters. I will not buy this again, utter garbage.

Ages ago, there was a Lipton loose tea which I really enjoyed and could be identified as actual leaves. But it apparently disappeared. This tea isn't that tea. It isn't the tea bag tea either, but it does carry the same astringent quality even if slightly over-brewed. Thus better served as iced tea, diluted to taste with sugar added.

This is NOT your typical supermarket Lipton tea. I first became aware of this tea after spotting it in a Chinese drama series (Shan Shan Comes To Eat 杉杉来了), where it was shown as an 'upgraded quality' tea for the office kitchen, and nearly laughed myself out of my chair thinking "In the land of tea, THIS is supposed to be an upgrade? Lipton?" ... but then I noticed the "Yellow Label" designation which I'd never seen before, did some research, and eventually ordered some here out of curiosity. Let me tell you, this tea is very tasty. It has become my 'house tea'. I take care of my elderly mother, so there are always various helpers, aides, and guests around. Everyone I've offered some to has loved it. I keep tea bags in stock for their convenience, but prefer using the loose tea version when I make it for myself ( Lipton Yellow Label Tea (loose tea) - 450g ). I prepare it in various sized teapots, or by the cup using this awesome infuser: FORLIFE Stainless Folding Handle Tea Infuser with Carrying Case When prepared properly this tea has a very pleasant and subtle natural sweetness to it, with very little astringency. The choice of water used makes a substantial difference in the taste, as well. I use Crystal Geyser Water, 128-ounces (Pack of6) , which is very good for teas in general. I use this water even for expensive Chinese teas costing $1.50 to $2.00 per gram. Compare that vs loose Twinings at about $0.05 per gram, and this tea (loose form) at about $0.02 per gram . I also think this tea tastes best when brewed at slightly less than boiling (95°C / ±205°F) For a commercially produced tea, I can't recommend this highly enough. If you're on the fence, or just curious, take a chance ... give it a try. That's what I did, and I don't regret it one iota :)

This is a good fit for people who enjoy a stronger, more traditional black tea instead of something light and delicate. The large loose-tea format also makes it practical for regular tea drinkers who go through tea often and want better value than constantly buying smaller packs. Good everyday tea if you like strong flavor and do not mind loose-leaf prep.
