Finder of Lost Loves is the 1985 album by legendary soul singer Dionne Warwick, her seven for the Arista label. The album was recorded during 1984 and was released the following year. Tracks from the album were produced by such heavyweight legends such as Barry Manilow, Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager and Stevie Wonder. Bert Bacharach wrote the title track which became a gentle, sleek love song and the two Stevie Wonder duets from Woman In Red are included, with Richard Landis' produced Mutt Lange's sappy "Without Your Love"; otherwise Manilow's back in the producer's chair. Finder of Lost Loves sees Warwick lets loose on one more Richard Kerr dramatic ballad, "You Make Me Want To Love Again," but otherwise she's mostly content to take it easy. The album also includes top session musicians, Greg Phillinganes, Robbie Buchanan, Nathan East, Ed Greene, and Paul Jackson Jr. Dionne recorded a lot of great songs with Arista and this album is a perfect example of true musicianship. Every Dionne Warwick fan should have this album in their collection. So what are you waiting for??

Don't miss out on this Expanded Classic album from The Legendary Dionne Warwick.
Upon hearing the samples from this rare mid 80s classic by Dionne warwick I realized I really Missed out on this one but I corrected that oversight by purchasing this expanded version and there are several standouts such as No One in the World which was made famous by Anita Baker in 1988 the rare duet with Barry Manilow Run To Me ( you will also get bonus alternative takes of these two songs and much more) although I didn't hear many of these songs except Run To me back in the 80s I enjoy this album and I'm glad Sony/BMG ( Arista records current owner) made this available Thanks To Them And Thanks to Amazon for making this available I highly recommend this for Fans of 80S Adult contemporary as well as Dionne warwick's 80S Period Enjoy.

Classy forgotten gem, now a diamond.
A beautiful album made all the more wonderful by remastering and bonus cuts! The best part is Sony's full participation so everything has a lovely Arista label on it. The liner notes are wonderful and the remastering is too. This is a gorgeous and sophisticated album they was sorely overlooked 30 years ago.The title track (with the brilliantly talented Glenn Jones) and Dionne's original reading of No One in the World are worth the price of the CD alone. Don't miss this at the low price you'll see it for here... I'm not sure if Funkytowngrooves is still doing limited pressings or not but snag this whole you can just in case. If you're a Dionne fan you'll love the new master!

A very worthwhile album with some great songs and performances
I had the LP back in 1985 and was excited to see it finally available on CD. Though a good album, I am not as enthralled with some of the material as are my fellow reviewers. For me the best tracks are ‘No One in the World’, ‘Run to Me’, ‘Love Doesn’t Live Here Anymore’, ‘It’s Love’, and the not mentioned ‘You Made Me Want to Love Again’ (this is track that I bought the CD for really). You feel Dionne really opening up and giving these songs her all (can’t understand why ‘No One in the World’ was not released as a single – much more powerful then Anita Baker’s version). I felt the rest of the material was weak in comparison, though Dionne gives it her best. Perhaps using the ‘Finders of Lost Loves’ duet with Luther would have allowed the single to chart on the Hot 100 and helped the album crack the Hot 100 in the US.

Finding Dionne!!!
I had this 1985 album on cassette and had simply played it one time too many. I was so glad to see this out on CD and depsite the price, it is well worth it because every song on here is a winner!!It opens with "No One In The World," which was released shortly before Anita Baker's version. Dionne's however, held it's own and remains one of the best covers of the song to date. Track # 2 "Without Your Love," has a great feel to it with nice harmony. It's the type of song you like to listen to while driving along the Paciffic Coast Highway in a convertible. The third track, one of my favorites, is a duet with Barry Manilow called "Run To Me,", which is simply brilliant in every sense of the word. Dionne's voice is powerful, melodic and blends perfectly with Barry's.Tune # 4 "Finders of Lost Loves" was used for the televsion show with the same name by Aaron Spelling, and was#6 and #2 on the Billboard Charts for R&B and Pop respectively. This duet between Dionne and newcomer (at the time) Glen Jones was phenomenal. The song is packed with raw emotion and really good singing, with each singer complementing the other. Track #5 "Love Doesn't Live Here Anymore" is another favorite of mine. Dionne really belts this song out with such vocal dynamics, letting you know in no uncertain terms that you are listening to an accomplished vocalist."It's You" is a Stevie Wonder song that has Stevie's trademark of great harmony, wonderful words and terrific arrangement. There's no going wrong with this tune. Track # 7 "It's Love" is another work of art that clearly depicts a woman walking into a room and cathing everyone's eye as she falls in love with that special guy as soon as she sees him; great use of words and imagery. "Bedroom Eyes" gives us chance to slow things down a little, but this Barry Manilow song is no sleeper and allows Dionne to provide us with her sultry melodic tones along with Barry Manilow's timeless orchestration.Track # 9 "Weakness," is another duet with Stevie Wonder from the motion picture "The Woman in Red," which was a big hit in the 80's. The final song on this album "You Made Me Want To Love Again," is also a favorite of mine. Dionne sings this song like there is no tomorrow. Her impeccable range and her ability to change dynamics mid song is excpetional. There is no better way to close an album but on a high note, and Dionne does not fail in this attempt.Dionne recorded a lot of great songs with Arista and this album is a oerfect example of ture musicianship. Every Dionne Warwick fan should have this album in their collection. I also recommend the album "Legends which is a 3 cd collection of Dionnes work from the 80's to 90's. So what are you waiting for? Order these CDs without question, you won't regret it!

I really enjoyed listening to this album of outtakes and left over ...
I really enjoyed listening to this album of outtakes and left over tracks. The best cut is Broken Bottles. This should have be put out as a single...it would have been a hit. For those who love Dionne Warwick, you need this album. While this album was not a hit, I think it was one of her best albums. You made me want to love again is a gem. Run to you is fabulous and was a minor hit in early 1985. If Arista had promoted this album who knows what could have been. With out your love is a great song and could have been a hit. The weakest song on the album is the title track. I never cared for it then and I still don't care for it know. The album includes the title track song with Luther Vandross. Either way, the song does do anything for me. The two songs with Stevie Wonder are great and again could have been hits. Overall, a great album and I am happy to see it on CD and with expanded tracks. I heard that the Heartbreaker album is being released as an expanded album...I can not wait.

Dionne fans must have for the big voice times!
This album was one of Dionne's very best - I am so glad it was re-released on cd! The song 'Love doesn't live here anymore' soars with the emotional phrasing, uniquely Dionne. This song particularly is one of those underheard gems that remind us of who Whitney Houston was related to - the magic of what 'big voices' like Dionne's was and high notes that no one has been able to duplicate since!

Dynamic Dionne!
This album is a MUST and certainly for admirers of the songstress Dionne Warwick and Aunt of the late Whitney Houston. This album not a best seller like 'Heartbreaaker' but in my opinion one that ought to have been as a musical delight with great duets 'Run To Me' with Barry Manilow and 'It's You' with Stevie Wonder as well as solo songs which illustrate the amazing vocal talent of the lady with an inimitable vocal! A favourite of mine being the uptempo song 'It's Love' but every song a delight and winner in my eyes! Treat yourselves to this musical gem and one guarantee if you appreciate a singer of songs; you'll not be disappointed you did!

I love this album
Oh Dionne, how I love your voice and music. I was so delighted when I saw this Expanded Edition for sale. I love this album and now I have the instrumental Run to Me. Whoo-hoo! I wish 'You made me want to love again' had an instrumental version but I'm not moaning. Perfect album.

このCD(Disc2)は買わないで!
