This item with "chew guard" lasted all of 5 seconds with my dog before it's head was off, another ten seconds before the chicken was completely disemboweled and there was fluff everywhere in. Dog had a good time. Not sure what chew guard is, but I don't think it works.

My 100+ lb bullmastiff/anatolian shep puppy mix tears through any toy that's not solid bone in minutes... unfortunately he eats it too which is why I'm always on the hunt for the strongest, most durable ones out there.To give you a reference, this puppy downright demolished a toy made of fire house in 1 sitting 4 months and 50lbs ago. Today, he likes to drag logs 8-10" in circumference around the yard and then chew on them like a beaver. >_< I can't make this up.Back to the Elephant. The pup has given him several good chomping sessions. He's showing wear, but the guy has all his limbs, trunk, ears, and tail! One leg has some holes now, after maybe chew session 5?, but it's still holding on really well.This toy has lived lifetimes longer than any non - bone/ hard plastic toy (rope, plush, fire hose, soft and hard rubber). I'm estimating another week or two of play, but the ability to even add versatility to his toys is worth it. I'll be buying another.

I have two 75 lb pit bull mix dogs. It is very difficult for me to find a toy that they are interested in and that lasts. This brand is my favorite. I have to watch so that they don't play tug of war for too long with it because nothing is that indestructible. It is also important to note that my dogs don't obsessively gnaw on the toys. If your dog does that, this is not the toy for you. They love the squeakers and honkers, and the goDog toys last the longest and are most enjoyed in my house. Great product.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  We purchased this large rooster for our eight week old pup. She's now five months old, and this is still her longest lasting and favorite toy. I think it has something to do with the fact that the toy has so many appendages, as well as small and large squeakers. When our pup was small, she could only work the small squeakers in the feet. Now that she's older, she loves working the large squeaker in the chest cavity of the rooster. Over time, the rooster went from white to dirty brown, so we tried throwing it into the washer. It came out sparkling clean, and the squeakers all continued to work. In the past three months, our dog has chewed on the toy (she especially likes gnawing on the rooster's comb and head), but she also likes tossing it, chasing it, playing tug of war with it, and attacking it just as much. I'm sorry to hear that other dog owners have had problems with quality control. Our rooster is still going strong.

My dog loves this toy and I purchase mainly goDog toys because they hold up well. This is his second chicken. I ordered it again because the first one came apart pretty quickly but he really loved it so I thought maybe I got a bad one. Well after 5 minutes and a couple shakes the leg came off leaving a big hole in the second one allowing the stuffing out, I'm so disappointed as they have really great other products but this is my boys favorite one. He is a 25lb Small Australian Shepherd, so not a big dog. Buddy is a aggressive chewer ,I have bought several toys off amazon which are great toys for dogs just not my Buddy as he destroys!!! This is the best toy I have bought that he hasnt been able to chew through or shred, THANK YOU so happy I was tired of wasting my money. Now this brand GO DOG is the only brand I buy .Buddy is 2 yrs old he was dropped off with tags from over a 100 miles from where we lived called and tag owner said sounds like he has found a good home, .Being 70 yrs old this was not my dream dog , a lap dog would of been better. I thank God for bringing him into our lives but like any adoptive parent we are learning his ways which he loves toys, infact every pkg that comes he thinks is his.Thank you Gr Dog with chew guard you have made Buddys day as he didnt like watching me picking up the pieces of his other babies and throwing them away.

I bought my pup one of these for Christmas and he LOVED it. he killed it pretty quickly because he's a pitbull and soft toys don't last with him, but even after she was de-stuffed and mutilated, he carried her corpse around because he loved it so much. I took her crinkly paper and squeakers out and he was still obsessed with her. She didn't last long, but she was at least good quality material. She lasted about 2 weeks before I had to throw her out - which was fine.Puppy had to get surgery this week so I bought him another to cheer him up and distract him from the e-collar, and this one is COMPLETELY different. Looks different, I'm pretty sure it's smaller, and the quality is horrible - it literally came with loose threads. The material even is completely different. The last one was thicker and stronger and way more durable. This one is ridiculously thin. He had holes ripped in it the second he had his teeth in it. There's not as much stuffing in the limbs as the last one, so while with the last one the stuffing was protecting his teeth from clashing, with this one there's no barrier. I'm not going to be able to leave him with it for more than a few minutes at a time because I don't want his teeth grinding with a thin flap of material in between. I might cut the limbs off and give him just the body - but why would I pay the same price for half the toy.I'm not initiating a return for the reason listed above - it's still cheering my dog up, and distracting him, but I'm so upset that I wasted the money on this for it to be completely different. And just in case the company doesn't have anyone looking through reviews for feedback, I am going to be emailing as well.If you buy this, I hope you get the good quality one that my pup loved so much and not this garbage I was sent today.
