I only needed one
I needed one of these for an older clamp-style Fido glass cannister where the rubber gasket had yellowed. I measured the gasket I had and it seemed to match the measurements given on the write-up. But the cannister I had was about 15 years old so I was unsure when I received these and it looked a bit too small. But with a bit of push, it fits perfectly and will seal beautifully. Makes sense it should be snug. Not sure what I'll do with the rest of the same size gaskets in the pack but I guess I'm set for life on this cannister. So, you know, one less thing.

White gaskets give clamp jars a clean look
Glad I found these. I like them much more than the orange colored ones I found at the Hardware stores or even the silicone ones that are very thin. I don’t use the gaskets for canning but only for storage. I love my clamp jars!

Back in business
I ordered these gaskets as I picked up several Fido jars for free at a garage sale. The size of the gasket is not like an easy to find Bell gasket. I believe that is why the jars were free. I was a bit skeptical about the gasket size as it refers to a range of jar size the gasket will accommodate. I can happily report that the gasket fits my jars and seals nicely.

Perfect match for Fido Jar
Awesome, original Fido’s replacement rubber liners. Very good quality, nice rubber, surely it will last! Seals perfectly, easy to use, right size for my Fido jar.

Pretty Good Fit
For the record, the unstretched gasket has an outside measurement of about 9cm or 3.5in and an inside diameter of about 6.5cm or 2.75inI bought some old ceramic locking canisters at goodwill and some of then needed new gaskets. I replaced all of them for consistency (and so it was easier to clean the canisters, some of the old gaskets were pretty grody and decayed). I have three canisters and there's six in the pack, so I still have three gaskets left as backups. They're not a perfect fit, and I'm not sure how well they really seal but the seals are visible and appear to be squished between the lid and body of the cannister as they should be, plus it seems to keep the rice and pasta fresh enough. Here are the measurements, they're not super exact, but hopefully it will help you decide if this is the right size for you. I measured the inner bit on the lid that the gasket had to fit around, which is the same as the stretched inner dimensions of the gasket, and then the stretched outer dimension of the gasket, and finally the opening of the cannister they needed to seal. The inside diameter of the lip on the lid that the gasket had to fit around was about 8.5cm or 3.375in. You have to fight to get it on a little, but I think that's supposed to be the case. The outer diameter of the stretched gasket was about 10.5cm or 4in.The opening of the jar was about 11cm or 4.5in. As you can see the gasket doesn't quite match the opening of the cannister, but the inside of the cannister slopes a little inward, which pushes the gasket up and as I mentioned, visibly squishes it against the edge when closed.

THESE ARE THE ONES YOU WANT
I have quite a few glass storage jars whose mouths are slightly larger than the newer crop, and have had difficulty finding replacement gaskets, a task made more difficult by inconsistent labeling information by vendors at Amazon. After extensive research, I bought these gaskets thinking they would fit my jars whose original (aged) gaskets have the following dimensions:gasket outside diameter - 4" (100 mm)gasket inside diameter - 2-7/8" (73 mm)jar width to center of opening - 3-1/2" (85mm)When I received them, I discovered the dimensions for these gaskets are:outside diameter - 3 1/2" (90 mm)inside diameter - 2 7/16" (62 mm)I almost sent them back. The only reason I didn't was that I was unable to find the "right" size anywhere. I tried one on a jar, and was pleasantly surprised. These Bormioli seals are made from high quality slightly elastic rubber that easily stretched to the larger opening. They are dense, but not as hard and inflexible as the orange seals or lower quality white seals. They are also the proper thickness, unlike some of the other thinner seals sold here.It took a bit of maneuvering to get them on (three hands would help), but its not stressing the product, and once installed they are held securely on the jar but still allow for some adjustment. Do NOT buy the 4 1/4" seals (outside dimension)thinking it's your next best option. They will fall off every time you open the jar and drive you crazy. You want a bit of stretch to hold the seals onto the lid, and I suspect the quality of this product means they will survive the elements a bit longer than the original set. I tested for water tightness and the clean white color is a big plus for me.I hope this helps others avoid the same frustrations I went through.BTW, the important dimension that everyone seems to forget is the glass ring in the lid, which is what the gasket will fit to. That dimension is 3" on my jars. You want the inside dimension of the gasket to be smaller than that size so the rubber stretches enough to hold the gaskets in place. Unfortunately, manufacturers don't include that dimension anywhere in their product information.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••May, 2017 - 5 years later, none of these gaskets have deteriorated or hardened. They are all still just like new, with no stains or cracking. They are much better quality that the old red gaskets they replaced.
