3 Device Universal COMCAST XFINITY Remote Control RNG DCX

Works just like my old one, but did need to be programmed differently for the 30 second forward skip. See attached pic. This is dark gray model compared to my old one which was light gray.

If you can’t get the remote to work with TV codes that you know are correct, replace the batteries. After messing with the setup unsuccessfully, I changed the batteries that came with the remote. It worked perfectly.

Works great for me, but my setup is simple: no streaming; just a TV screen, a cheap Vizio soundbar, and a Motorola DCX-3500 box. Received the dark-silver/grey model with the red "OK/Select" button. If this does not operate your cable box, your cable box may be of the newer "X1" generation, or you may need to reprogram the "Cable" device button on the remote to a code that matches your hardware. Yes, this remote DID arrive with the "Cable" device button locked. I had to unlock the "Cable" device button before reprogramming:To unlockPress and release CABLE button once, CABLE button should blink once.Press and hold SETUP button, until CABLE button blinks twice. Let go.Enter the digits 9-8-2If CABLE button blinks 4 times, you have successfully unlocked CABLE button.If CABLE button blinks 2 times, you have not successfully unlocked it. Perhaps it was already unlocked.Unfortunately, the instructions which came with my remote did not have a list of cable-box codes. I had to seek out a User Guide for an older version of the remote on the Internet. All of the instructions from the older User Guides worked for me, however, including how to lock the remote's VOLUME control to my AUX device (and not my TV, which is the remote's default behavior).(Free bonus.... )To lock the remote's VOLUME and MUTE controls to your existing AUX device....Hold SETUP button until Red Light blinks 2x.Release SETUP button.Enter 9-8-3 (TYPO!! Enter 9-9-3, not 9-8-3)Red Light blinks 2x.Press and release AUX button.AUX Red Light blinks 2x.(These simple instructions were ALSO not in the current User Guide, which shipped with the remote...)Also, this remote easily and successfully accepted the device code for my cheap Vizio soundbar (32454), which has always been a nightmare to get working with most Universal Remotes. All worked great. I bought another one.Do remember that all of the device codes you want to operate with this model must be 5 digits. Older device codes (like "476" for a Motorola Cable box), must be flushed out to a 5-digit code ("00476").Same applies to old 3-digit EFC key codes like "30-second forward skip" ("173" --> "00173")

11/14/2019 - I ordered this item again and it was programmed to the cable box! Works perfect!......7/2019...I checked all the reviews before chancing this remote. As stated by others, it is not programmed to the Comcast cable box. It programs to the TV perfect. I spent a loooooooong time with Comcast customer service, they did not seem to be able to answer the simple question "is there a code to pair the remote to the box"? They kept giving me the codes to the TV. It seems they could send a tech to program the remote. Other customers stated they found the programming code online, I can only find directions for the X1 box, which I don't have. Comcast is trying AGAIN to send me this remote, they sent me the XR2. I will keep this remote in case I ever have the tech in the house again.......So, Comcast stated they would send me a new remote, not the XR2. After receiving 3 XR2's, I set up a tech visit. He programmed the remote in less than 2 minutes. The code was 981 if this helps anyone else. The remote works great. The seller should make an effort to make sure these remotes are programmed to the cable box OR include the code………….21 June 2023...I was having trouble with one of my remotes needing batteries too often….ordered two more remotes just to be on the safe side. BOTH work great! They both came programmed to the cable box. Programmed to my TV easy Peazy! Thanks!

Needed a replacement Comcast Xfinity remote and this one fit the bill. Price good as well! Highly recommend.
