This this is a very good upgrade to the previous EVGA 600B that I was using before. I wanted to get into some overclocking with my intel core i5 4670k, but I was really afraid of doing it on my previous power supply (It was not recommended for overclocking). I bought the EVGA SuperNOVA 650, which was rated at 80+ gold efficiency amd also came with the added benefit of being fully modular. I thought fully modular PSUs were just gimmicks when I first became aware of them, but now that I actually have one, I'm not sure why I didn't get one in the first place. I no longer have to hide any useless cables in my case's chassis to make my PC setup look ok. With this new PSU, I decided it was time to do a bit of overclocking on my CPU. I increased my processor's frequency to 3.6 Ghz from the stock 3.4 Ghz, without increasing any voltages and since nothing has blown up, I don't think anything went wrong. This is a very low overclock, but I plan to overclock more a bit later, when I have the time to do stress test benchmarks on my CPU.

Happy with this psu
Pros: It's great that EVGA puts in two CPU (EPS) connectors in with their high efficiency 650 watt power supplies, so they can really run dual-socket motherboards. It seems like the other good PSU brands only have a single CPU connector at that capacity. My Sandy Bridge E5-2670 servers only draw about 300 watts out of the wall at full load, so getting an 800 watt or more PSU just to get the extra connector would be a waste. The 650 GS is noticeably shorter and less massive than its semi-modular cousin the 650 GQ. They both seem to work great, though.Cons: Not much of a con, but the ATX cord is just barely long enough to make it around the back side of an SSI EEB motherboard when the PSU is at the bottom of the case. The CPU connectors were just a bit too short, and had to go over the top of the motherboard. This is mounted in a cooler master trooper case, though, and that thing is like a blimp hangar inside. I suspect it won't be a problem in a normal ATX case.

650 GS + Dell 8700 + GTI 980 Ti SC+ = Awesome
I needed to upgrade the power supply in my son's Dell 8700 in order to accommodate a new EVGA GeForce GTI 980 Ti 6GB SC+ graphics card. The power supply fits snuggly but very well, and all the required power cords are included with supply (with plenty left over). It's much quieter than the original power supply and so far - a month and a half later of daily gaming use - it's working beautifully. NOTE: You MUST upgrade the Dell 8700 BIOS to the latest rev before you install the graphics card mentioned above or the computer will not boot. Also, the 980 Ti takes up the space of two slots and just barely fits lengthwise, so prepare for a slightly fiddly install. I had to move the DVD player down a slot so its connector would reach the motherboard over the graphics card (it does). If you're just installing the power supply, though - it's a snap.

First one was DOA-Waiting for replacement-Updated
I ordered this PSU to complete my mini ITX build. Was very disappointed when the unit was DOA. I have submitted a replacement ticket with Amazon and will update when the new unit comes. Hopefully the replacement will function correctly. Was super excited to get it :( my 3.5" SSHD won't fit unless I get a 120mm length PSU.Update: Replacement unit was A-OKAY. Worked and fit just fine. Good deal, runs quiet, really like it.

Bought this to replace my evga 650w g2 that fried my cpu (4690k, not cheap). I had it for over a year, and I felt like I got my money's worth from it while it worked. Also not sure that I would trust it even if it was repaired. This one arrived DOA. The port where the power connector plugs in is extremely loose, and the included test part shows no signs of life from power supply.EDIT: Turns out the new power supply was NOT dead on arrival. Somehow, between getting the new power supply and testing a different power supply to diagnose the original problem, my motherboard power connector stopped working. I found this out after I had the same problem with the replacement, and I decided to just try a different cable.I fully reccomend this PSU, and am still a big EVGA fan.

DOA!
It really deserves a 0 star rating if possible..So I got my product awhile back, built my PC and initially all seemed well. But once I tried to turn on my PC, the power supply unit didn't seem to be providing any power to my build. Opened up my case and took it out, lo and behold - it looks like something melted inside.I would have opened it up to check - but that would void my warranty. Amazon is very kindly accepting a return on this product, but as I do not live in the States - I will need to pay a reasonably big shipping fee to get it back!I bought this product with the reviews from various tech sites that sang its quality but mine was definitely not up to par! The rest of my build is as follows:Intel i5 6600kCooler Master Hyper 212XGigabyte Z170X Gaming 3SK Hynix 500GB SL308 SSDWestern Digital Blue 2TB HDDPalit GTX 1070 JetstreamCrucial Ballistix 16GB DDR4 2400Phanteks Enthoo Pro full tower caseProps to Amazon for being amazing! Not so much to EVGA!

Works, but...
Mine arrived with a messed up fan that makes a terrible sound and a bad smell. Returning it for a 750w Supernova P2 and hopefully I'll have better luck with that one.

Cool, Quiet, Efficient
As a first time builder using some recycled parts, I originally went with my non-80+ certified PSU because I got it for free. When it started making odd noises I decided to upgrade. At the time of writing this, I've used this PSU for a few hours and it works great. So far, the fan rarely spins on idle and only spins slowly under load. Aside from that it's probably a whole lot safer than my last PSU. And a lot less messy. The modular design makes my case look a lot nicer now that I don't have to shove all the wires I'm not using in various places.
