Exceptional value! Exceptional quality!
The sound of this system rivals my Bose CineMate Series II, which also produces excellent sound. The Yamaha, however, allows you to custom make your sounds: for example, adjusting the equalizer and volume levels - for each speaker! Also, connecting your television, cable, Firestick, etc., via the four HDMI inputs on the back of the receiver enhances the clarity of everything connected. IMPORTANT! You might consider reading the user guide thoroughly before setting up the system because it is not simply plug and play. It may take a couple weeks to tweak a number of things before you can more fully realize how great this system is. Be patient, take your time, and enjoy how flexible and phenomenal this system is!Instructions how to connect a Sennheiser wireless headset to cable box and Firestick:1. Connect an HDMI cable to a vacant HDMI port on the back of the Yamaha receiver.2. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the extractor OUT.3. Connect the Firestick, etc., to the extractor IN.4. Connect a 2-Male to 1-Female Stereo RCA Plug Y Splitter Adapter Cable to the cable box and one to the extractor (for both the "red" and "white;" which means the customer will need two Y Splitters)5. Plug in the “red” and “white” cables from the Sennheiser to the appropriate place on the Adapter Cable, allowing the customer to listen to both stereo speakers and the headset simultaneously without cancelling out the other.6. NOTE: Numbers 4 and 5 may require a different Y Splitter depending upon connections.

Great system
This unit might not be the "keeping up with the Jones'" latest and greatest million dollar super top of the line newest latest system on the market, but for my needs and it's price, makes it is a great system.I only needed a few of the inputs for my fire stick, Xbox, and Chromecast. Much easier than trying ot get to the devices behind the TV when i need to grab the Fire stick or Chromecast. I have had no problems with audio on the used inputs and i like that i can set the "scene" for each input as well. The use of Wifi is a bonus, the app you can download to your smartphone is great to make changes with via your phone/tablet, i have not tried it with Alexa yet and my not i don't know if i will yet.The WiFi Makes upgrading the firmware simple too. i would check for a firmware upgrade when you get it connected, depending on your network speed it could take a minute. For me, the sound is awesome and crisp. I like having total control over each speaker so that i can tweak the settings.I will however be upgrading my Sub for a 12", this one is great and has great sound, but, i like to really feel my audio be it a movie or music.

Pro's, and Con's
The is my third surround system, over the last 14 years. My first two had built in DVD players. The DVD player failed on both of them, leaving me a useless system. This time, I bought a stand alone surround system. I bought this on June 7th, 2020, and finally got around to installing it today, September 26th 2020. Con, installing a surround sound system takes time, hence why I finally got around to it. Pro, once hooked up, I didn't have to use the micro phone system to get great sound. Con, only the center speaker produced voices, all other speakers produced music, and sound affects. Since I like the voices to be in the back speakers, I had to add speakers from an old system, and tie them in with the center speaker wires. BIG CON, if your t.v. is on the same wall as your bedroom, expect your wife to demand you to turn it down when she goes to bed...LOL! Other than that, I'm very happy with the system. I gave it three stars for sound, only because the center speaker had the voices. If the back speakers had voices, like my first surround sound system, I would have given it five stars. But I took care of that. For the money, worth it.

Perfect all in one package!
This system replaced an old Sony system we had in our living room. Originally purchased the YHT-4930 and wasn't that impressed. Bought this one as it's a new model and what a difference in features and sound! System includes the RX-V485 Receiver and the PS-41 Speaker set. Setting up was a breeze, connected to our wi-fi with no issues. Especially like the built in streaming of 100's of radio stations, SiriusXM, Pandora and more. Using the eARC HDMI setup found and configured my Samsung UHD TV, AppleTV and Blue-Ray player instantly. The Sub-woofer is upgraded from the 4930 and really pounds the bass out if you want it. I use a Harmony one ultimate remote which works flawlessly with this model. Also, with this system comes with music cast which allows you to add music cast wireless speakers to other rooms our outdoors of your home and control everything through the Yamaha music cast app on your phone, tablet, home kit or alexa. Works well!Tip: When setting up, make sure to configure your speakers using the included YPAO microphone! Just place it to your desired listening area and start the process. This sets your speakers to the correct level and distance. This is a must and you can always tweak settings after setup.

Very nice product
One could spend a lot more on a fancy sound system, but this one is pretty good for the money. There's no independent equalization control, just a bunch of pre-set sound configurations. I couldn't figure out why it sounded kind of crappy at first, so I tried the little self-calibrating microphone thingy that came with it. The thing made a bunch of sci-fi weird noises during the set-up process and after it was done, voila! it sounded great! Modern technology. What can I say. It also works well with my other devices (smart TV, satellite receiver, blue ray player, turn table, game console, it even plays music via blue tooth from my phone). Had to do a little hand-shaking coordination with the TV, but all works well together and it makes movies sound a lot better. Not surprisingly, you have to sort through the inputs to get it to play a particular device, but that's a small price to pay for the versatility and great sound.
