VMAI 2.1 Sound Bar with Subwoofer, 120W, Bluetooth 5.0, HDMI/Optical/Auxiliary/USB, Jet Black, 34 Inch, Wall Mountable, Bass Adjustable Surround Sound for Home Theater

I purchased this sound bar in subwoofer setup to replace the crappy sound coming from my 4K LG TV. The back firing speakers on a television or muffled because of how close to the wall I have the television. So often I have a hard time hearing what I'm trying to watch. I am visually impaired so hearing to me is very very important. Also, I am not rich at all so I had to purchase in budget. But the reviews were many and the reviews were all good. So I bit the bullet. I can only say one thing I am very happy I bet that bullet. I have been running the sound bar each and every day for about a week with no problems so far. Sounds awesome. The sound bar feels and looks comparable to a Samsung soundbar. On the side it has capacitive touch buttons. So no pressing needed. Unfortunately, it is only a power and volume up and down. I could not find any other buttons on the bar itself. The reason I state this is that if you lose the remote control you will not be able to change the sound settings you won't be able to change the trouble or the base, you will not be able to set it from movies, news, music etc. However, I was contacted by the seller immediately after my purchase telling me that there is a universal remote code for this sound bar. So that is a good sign. The sound that came out of the bar was crisp and clean and there was no rattle or vibration at all. And definitely no distortion I was actually amazed. Onto the subwoofer. it is a tiny little 5-in speaker and the subwoofer box is really not that big either however, the base that came out of this little box for this little speaker floored me. It is like a movie theater experience. I own a 10-in downward passive subwoofer and that will make your chest rattle this subwoofer will not do that however the base is deep and has a great tone. I've watched men in Black in the fifth Element and was absolutely excited to hear the base that came out. In other words it's perfect for a living room home theater. If you have a man cave or a theater room you might want something a little bit bigger. But I have no complaints this was such a great purchase so far. I will update if I have any issues. Just do not be afraid to make the purchase it was worth it for me. I even got almost $30 off my purchase without a coupon code. So I'm sure if you seek out a code you will most likely find one and you could get this speaker set up for fairly cheap. I just wanted it at my door ASAP could not wait and I am very happy.

I just received my VMAI Sound Bar with Subwoofer and i was able to install it in front of my tv in under 10 mins. I used the Optical cable although i hear the HDMI (Arc) connection is better but this connection seems to take longer and it could just be a matter of settings in my Samsung 50".The Sound bar is very modern looking for lack of a better word and it sits about 2.5" in height which is awesome because it doesn't get in the way of the t. v. remote sensors. The sound is really nice and whats cool is that there are Bass and Treble +- buttons on the remote control so you can control your sound a lot better and it has 4 presets where you can quickly set your sound for music, movie, news and 3d sound as well. The problem i noticed right away is the size of the remote. Its a bit small in your hand and you almost have to use both hands, one to hold the remote and the other to push buttons but as you get the settings your comfortable with you just need to use the Volume power and mute using just one finger. I bought the other VMAI Sound bar with no Sub woofer and it just didn't have the bass i was looking for so i returned it and purchased this sound bar and I'm extremely happy i went with my gut feelings and great reviews for this Sound Bar. This one is DEFINITELY A KEEPER and a great Christmas gift for under $135.00.The ultimate test will be when i watch a good movie with lots of action to see if this Sound bar will perform as it's supposed to. Revision: I watched a good movie thru the Sound bar and it was awesome as i can hear the sounds of a helicopter going from one end of the speakers to the other and bullets being fired the same thing. It is a joy to listen to movies now. The best setting for watching movies is the 3D setting, once enabled you'll get the cool separation thru the speakers. I am totally happy with this Sound bar and woofer and i have recommended these to my friends and family who were blown away when they heard the system. Hope this review helps someone!

(NOTE: New Dec. 2020 comments at end of review regarding occasional noise) This VMAI was for a friend's older HDTV that does not have ARC capability, and therefore cannot use the TV's volume control. Equally important, is that my friend was very non-technical, so the soundbar choice needed to be easy to use. We originally tried a Polk Signa S2, which is somewhat comparable, but it had the worst remote control delay I have ever seen and no display, only LED lights that are difficult to interpret from across the room. So the VMAI was selected for its comparable price and having the 2-digit display. The Polk sounded better in some ways, but lacked the sound shaping modes that the VMAI has. This became crucial when listening to news and talk shows which require more than just Bass and Treble adjustment. Also, the Polk did not seem to punch sound as much as the VMAI does with certain settings. We tested bluetooth with a Mac laptop but it seemed unreliable, sometimes losing connection when the laptop was woken up or turned on, requiring fiddling to get it reconnected. The optical connection works well, but then the VMAI remote must be used for volume, adding another device to fumble with, lose/break. We settled on the analog audio connection (AUX) that works fairly well when the VMAI is set to around 25 volume for a large room. Then the TV remote could control the volume output. The TV audio settings needed to be altered to not use internal speakers. The main downside to this method is that the audio wire sometimes picks up EMF interference from nearby devices (or perhaps the VMAI itself), causing noticeable electric hum/noise. This may be due to the position of the AUX wire, acting like an antenna. Additionally, using this method requires leaving the VMAI volume setting higher than usual which may produce some hiss and line noise independent of any EMF. (Dec. 2020 NOTE: Usually this can be compensated by moving the AUX or power cord around until the noise is reduced. Perhaps the wires could be better insulated somehow against EMF and interference.) We also discovered the VMAI must be left on or it may switch inputs when powered back on, requiring more fiddling. It seemed to want to go to bluetooth every time it was turned on. This may have been due to having a paired bluetooth device saved in memory. The VMAI remote is needed to power on/off unless you walk up and press the button on the VMAI itself. VMAI emailed about a week or so after ordering to apologize for not including a AAA battery in the box and to provide technical information that may be helpful for many users. They also included the remote codes for use with custom/learning remotes. Over all decent sound, but sensitive ears will notice the sound quality seems "compressed" and lacking detail. NOT for an audiophile for certain, but then look at the price range. The sound modes (see remote buttons) really helped adjust the sound for the environment/room and listener's hearing. If you have a customizable/learning remote, you can add the VMAI remote features. [Dec. 2020 EDIT:] Still pleased with the VMAI's performance. Main issue is occasional noise if AUX or power wire is moved in certain positions (relative to other wires or devices nearby). Perhaps using some form of insulation could eliminate this. I have heard of people using aluminum foil or something to better shield thinner wires. My friend was not interested in trying this. Once in a while when the power goes out they have to manually switch back to the AUX input, and then everything is fine. So, overall a decent product for the price, with a little adjustment.)

First of all for this review i would like to say thank you to the great people in tech support with this unit. I bought this as i was wanting a decent sound bar at a decent price without breaking the wallet. This one fit the bill not only was the order prompt and on time it was early. The set up was very simple and straightforward , Sould quality is great for movies and music. Good depth of sounds highs and lows. Now for the problem.... When i ordered i was sent a email saying thanks for purchase etc..in it it stated that if i wanted to disable the standby mode to reach out to them which i did. The response was quick less than 12 hrs ..in it gave instructions to dl a upd file on to flash drive , instert ot and turn on unit and the process should finish within 5 mins and the power off...unit never powered off nor would it turn off from remote or power button. I reached put to tech suppourt wondering if i missed a step..the responded wuickly stated not a problem they have had before and they with talk with their team about it. 12hrs later they replied snd stated it is unknown issue but the would ship me another unit express,..2 days later new one came ...works great and no stand by mode... Thus is probally longest review i have written , but honestly the support via email was top notch and to top it off they were not concern with returning old unit so less hassel trying to rebox and ship.

I’ve now purchased two if these VMAI 120w 2.1 channel sound bars - after the first I liked so much I bought a second. I had another brand that was in the same price category but with much inferior sound quality. The look of the device is very modern and chic. The sound quality is superb. I got rid of both my other surround systems in favor of this unit. So far very pleased. Well worth the $$, 10/21/2023 Update to my original review - I ended up having an issue with one of the soundbars purchased from VMAI. I contacted customer support and they responded immediately. First they provided some tips on how to rectify what I was experiencing. As I was unable to fix the issue they immediately sent via expedited shipping a brand new unit which works perfectly, They were very responsive, clearly cared about customer satisfaction regarding their products and very pleasant to deal with. This whole experience just further validates my original purchase. As I stated I have two of their sound bars and would buy them all over again - this a year after my original purchase.

Good price, sounds great. However, needs powered off and back on a lot to work. And also died after only a few years.

I’ve been searching for an inexpensive upgrade to my current audio setup for my TV. Spent money on the Xbox series X and a tv that can handle the graphics so the budget for the sound was less than great to work with. After some review hopping I chose this setup and have no regrets at all. Sound quality is good at low and high levels. The bass is fantastic. One of the best features is the HDMI/ARC use. Literally getting the best sound and able to use my tv factory remote is great. I hate universal remotes, so using the tv remote for both the channel and app choices as well as volume control is too notch. Now if you want to change modes and bass level you will still need your remote handy for more in depth tuning but overall if you like where it’s set you can then just keep one remote at the couch side. Honestly love the look, sound and ease of use!

I just purchased the NEW model of Vmai soundbar with the built in subwoofer and I do not like it, the sound is weak and the bass is terrible. I made sure to order the new soundbar because my old one stopped working working on 9/25/23 so I ordered the new one the same day, PAID for the shipping so it would arrive on 9/30/23 the day of my 10 yr old sisters sleepover birthday party, but unfortunately for my sister it was delayed and it was delivered on 10/1/23 which was very upsetting for her because they were planning on watching movies on Disney+! I hooked up my new soundbar and the sound was not good the bass was extremely weak.. I don’t understand why Vmai stopped making the older model which was GREAT, a soundbar with a separate subwoofer which had a nice strong bass when watching action films or just listening to music! I have returned my soundbar as of 10/3/23

This soundbar is a perfect upgrade to your TV's built-in speakers. The overall sound is full and the sub-woofer really adds depth while the mid-range is nice and clear. The 4 listening modes work really well. The 4 connection ports plus Bluetooth provide flexibility for almost any TV. We bought this to watch movies and regular TV and it has exceeded our expectations. Great value for the money. I also want to add that I did have a minor technical issue with the ARC port and customer service responded right away and provided excellent support to resolve it. Very impressive service. The other thing that impressed me was the quality of the build, everything is solid and well put together.

Not a powerful bar but nice quality for the price. I recommand it.

These have good sound quality. But bass is low and sometime have problem with netflix.

I didn't have high expectations for this as it was cheap. The biggest issue I have is using the fire tv, the speakers do not produce any sound when you open Netflix, Disney+, and all those. On my other tv's that just use the firestick these speakers work fine. I have not been able to sync the Amazon remote to control volume level of the soundbar which is kind of annoying but the remote that comes with these speakers works fine...... It's just another remote to lose.

We were looking for something good but nothing expensive or overpowering. Fairly easy to use - wish the Display panel was a little more detailed - but works great. We use it to enhance a LED TV with tiny speakers - good but not overly loud or obnoxious. Or it just plays music (without the TV even on) - easy the switch inputs once you understand the basic 2 digit display. Would Recommend to those on a budget.
