Samsonite Columbian Leather Briefcase, Black, Flapover Briefcase

I've had this bag for more than two years and can tell you that it's still very useful, unbroken, and good looking. It has quite a lot of space to carry things, and at times I've really filled it up and worried if it was going to hold well with the weight inside. I was happy and relieved to see that this is a strong bag and can carry my laptop, power supply, cords, books, portfolio, and other items all at once. Of course the bag will look thicker or thinner depending on how much you out into it. This was a good choice for a bag. I'm careful to try not to scratch it, because that can happen, but the zippers and handle (I use more than the strap) are very strong to have lasted this long with my use.I recommend this bag.

I received the item this week. Love all the space (the 3 compartments are HUGE) it provides to carry my Surface Pro (I am sure I could also carry my other laptop as well at the same time), accessories and other items for professional and personal usage. The shoulder strap is extremely comfortable and supports the weight. I recommend this item as it looks stylish for the professional and it will support your needs.

I have had several briefcases, backpacks, etc.. I love this bag. It doesn't hold as much as my Northface backpack, but it also doesn't get as thick, or as impossibly heavy. It is a bit of a heavy bag, but with a sturdy feel, and there is a generous usage of leather. Very clean lines, and well organized interior. I do wish that there were some extra pen pockets, and a place for keys, but you can't have everything. It's a great professional travel bag, and it has the important strap on the back to hold it onto a roll a board luggage handle.

This is a great messenger bag style briefcase for men. It has more than enough room inside for calendars, pens, notebooks, papers, umbrella, etc. The leather is very soft to the touch, the (brown) color is professional and offers an opportunity to be different than the "black case" carrying crowd. it is well constructed. I prefer the magnetic flap over the traditional buckles, or quick release buckle systems. The shoulder strap is comfortable. Overall, I love the case, and it was half the price of the one at the mall.

The leather/fake leather/plastic loops on the bag that connect to the shoulder strap have broken with light use in less than 3 months. I do not recommend this product. Now I have to waste my time packing and shipping the bag to a repair center, for this to happen again in 3 months.I am quite surprised Samsonite would make a product of this low quality/durability.

I had the opportunity to buy this briefcase with a 50% of discount. For this final price, I consider I did a good deal. The leather is good, also the finishing in general. It has several small pockets inside de bag in general. It is good to use with a carry-on luggage, because there's a handle where you can hold the bag. So beyond its practicality, it is still elegant and can be used in more formal meetings. The only observation it would be in respect of the brown light color that appears in the picture, because it is not a bright color as appears, but a nubuck leather, even in a good quality.

I'm kinda torn on whether I like this bag or not, but since I gave it as a gift I guess I will see how the recipient likes it and will update accordingly. I'm reviewing this at a 3 stars now because it DOES not look like the picture. It just looks like a completely different leather - not necessarily a bad leather, but completely different. The picture makes it look like a shiny/polished reddish-brown leather. Very slick and professional looking. The reality is, as others have stated, a dull, vintage rugged-looking pebbled brown leather. Two totally different looks. I guess the best way I can describe it is that the pic looks more like professional lawyer sleek look, whereas the actual briefcase looks more like free-lance writer that travels internationally.The recipient may be happy with the gift (not sure yet), but I have no doubt he would have liked it more if it was like the one pictured. They have obviously tweaked the color in the pic, added lighting that gives it a shine that makes it looked polished, and smoothed over the texture in post-production of the image. It's so different, that I actually had to go back and see what I ordered because I thought "well maybe I went with a different one".

Bought this for my boyfriend who travels around the globe frequently for business. It was exactly what he was looking for! The rich brown leather is of superb quality, plenty of room, lots of extra pockets. The perfect upgrade from the backpack he carried around for years! Arrived at my doorstep 5 days after I placed the order. Very happy with this purchase!!
