Nice book
I purchased this book to refresh my memory of training to drive, since it has been many years since I have done that. This book has lots of great photos...and he explains the process and the "whys" of his training. Some of the terms are different than what we use as Americans, but one can still understand without too much effort, what he is talking about. Best bet is to read as much as you can, and watch videos, or watch another trainier. Lots of ideas, but the goals are the same. I would recommend this book.

Learning to long line harness training
Awesome book with very good step by step training details on begining a horse to long line in harness.I followed each step with my QH gelding & now he's ready to hitch as soon as the snow is off the ground! He's calm & willing to advance to each training step. The accomplished & metaled author, Heinrich Freiherr Von Senden, has a good communication skills that even the most experienced driver or the beginner (like me) can learn from.Great pictures and personal side bar hints for successful training of the driving horse.I highly recommend this book to read and learn by.

Good Info!
Good information & well written. Training a horse to drive is not a beginner project but for experienced horse people it is a very helpful book.

I was hoping it had more info and how to actually harness the horse. Names for parts of harness and how everything should be adjusted. It's an ok, but not as informative as I would have liked

Lots of step by step info
I love this book. I am training 2 young Haflingers and have found lots of valuable advice here. Good step by step instruction and problem solving sections. Bitting information is great. I followed some of his advice and saw instant results. I was hoping he had written other books.

Long Reining to Break Horses to Harness: Training the Safe Way
Excellent book. I am a driving trainer and instructor myself and this book portrays a systematic program to safely train a horse for driving. What I really was impressed with was the details of the German training system and that ground work is the key to safely introduce a horse to drive. This book brings the reader up to and through the point of hitching for the first time. It is an excellent book with wonderful, clear pictures and it is very easy to read.Linda BlockCarriage Hill Driving Center

Very impressed with this book, Henrich is an old fashioned horseman who has a pragmatic approach to training the carriage horse. He has an empathy with horses which shows through on every page. It is a pleasure to read.
