This was my third crushed red pepper flakes from this company. The first 2 were 5 lb bags, and were perfect. This time I purchased a 10 lb bag. Although the quality is still great, the crushed red pepper flakes in this bag were moist and clumpy. No mold, but I felt I needed to remove all the flakes from the bag and spread them out to dry. Due to the extra work on my part, I dinged them a star. Despite this experience, I would readily buy from this company again.

I use alot of crushed red pepper flakes as a seasoning on many different things. I used to buy the small plastic bottles at the grocery store. I have purchased this item multiple times and am very satisfied with the flavor and heat of these red pepper flakes. Any crushed red pepper flakes can contain a variety of different peppers but I assure you, these are plenty potent and hot. This works well to add as much heat as you want, to just about anything. This amount in bulk is very economical and it is easy to refill whatever small containers you have. This may seem like an extremely large amount but it isn't a problem because they store and keep well in any type of airtight container. After I open the 5 lb. bag, I divide it up into smaller quantities and vacuum seal in foodsaver bags until needed. I like to run some through a food processor for a finer texture for use in my shaker containers. This makes it much easier to sprinkle on food and gives a more even distribution when mixing into recipes. I often use this as a seasoning just like salt or black pepper.
