Star Trek: Movies 1-10 Remastered S.e. Boxset: 12blu: Box Set

I won’t go into details of the plots of the films, save to say that the first, fifth & last are vying to be the worst! A couple are little more than extended episodes. All the transfers are excellent; most of the effects more than survive being shown in 1080p, although some of the planetary-bound scenes in the early films look a little too much like the cardboard rocks of TOS. Make sure that, if you are using a sound bar, it can cope with Dolby 7.1, as this is the standard audio offering. The packaging is just a little awkward and clunky.Another small quibble; surely the directors’ cuts should have been included. Otherwise, this is a great way for fans to own all these films in HD & at a good price. Well worth 5 stars.

Lets make this clear this is not about the quality of the films or indeed the magnificent video restoration which is jawdroppingly good - its about the sound which is ONLY available in 7 .1 . No stereo , no 2.1 or 5.1 which our soundbar ( What Hi Fi Best of 2015 Q Audio ) handles without breaking sweat . As a consequence you need subtitles on . I put The Undiscovered Country through headphones - a normal TV programme or film needs a volume of between 28 and 35 - this needed 53 and still wasnt clear . The worst missed opportunity since the invention of shiny discs - once again loyal fans have been defecated on by Paramount.

I have been a big Star Trek Fan since I was a child. I started watching the Original series in the 1980's. I watched most Star Trek TV shows except DS9 which I couldn't get into. Ever since I saw this Blu Ray box set was released a few years ago I wanted to buy it. So a few weeks ago I bought the boxset.I read the reviews and Saw some people say that "some disks stutter or just don't work". I As soon as I got the Box Set I startedt watching each film from the first to the last film and from start to finish in every film. All the Disks played on my Panasonic DP-UB391EBK with the latest Firmware update installed. All but one disk played perfectly.Star Trek The motion Picture plays perfectly up until 1hour 9minutes 32seconds in. First the audio stutters for a second , then the picture breaks up , the audio stops working and the video skips ahead one second. To remedy this I had to rewind the video a few seconds to get the audio back. After that the video continues on just fine.I did not have the trouble I see some others say they have with some of the disks not playing and nine out of the ten movies play perfectly on my 4K blu ray player.I also saw some others say the video quality isn't good but on my setup the video quality is perfectly sharp and colours are greatly improved on the Blu rays compared to the DVD versions. In fact some of the Star Ship models are very detailed.The audio is very good too but it could do with being improved on the first three or four movies. But those are old movies so I doubt they can do much more to improve the sound on those movies.Anyway. I hope this review helps with your decision to buy the box set. In my opinion it was well worth buying. Its just a pitty the first movie in the collection has that one flaw in it.

Superb set only slight let down by the packaging which could have been more sturdy, but for this bargain price it's ok. Great picture as one would expect with Blu-ray. And good sound. We had full Dolby Digital with none of the apparent issues mentioned by other reviewers (who own Soundbars...we have an old Yamaha Home Cinema system which still belts out great sound...)Recommended to any Trek fan.

I ORDERED THIS ITEM AS IT HAS ALL OF THE STAR TREK FILMS ON BLU RAY AND THEY HAVE ALL BEEN REMASTERED AND WITH EXTRAS TOO IT SI REGION FREE BUT CHECK TO SEE IF YOUR BLU RAY PLAYER WILL PLAY THEM BEFORE ORDERING BUT TO TELL THE TRUTH MOST BLU RAY PLAYERS ARE AFFORDABLE AND THAT WAY YOU GET THE BENEFIT OF HAVING MORE CHOICE AS TO BLU RAYS YOU CAN PURCHASE FOR YOUR VIEWING DELIGHT THIS IS ALL THE FILMS FROM ORIGINAL CAST TO THE NEXT GEN CAST AND RELIVE IN GLORIOUS HIGH DEF THE STORIES YOU MAY HAVE SEEN AT THE CINEMA OR ON DVD AT HOME PLUS THE COST WAS EXCELLENT VALUE TOO

1st of all THANK YOU for the very good delivery !!!!!As for the BD Box :It is a very good box in a very good price .. 10 ST movies almost 4 euro each one.Excellent deal.I like very much that it is in a blue jewel case just like all blu-rays should be .. excellent move.The sound and the upgrade of the image are fantastic !!!!!!!I ave all of these 10 movies on DVD's and .. now i finally can see them as they should be.If you are thinking to buy it and have second thoughts .. DON'T .. just get it now !!

Very good quality and good for a walk down memory lane for the devoted "Trekkie". The sound quality is superb (I was listening on a sound bar set for 3D sound) The picture quality was crisp (I used an HDMI cable) the freeze frame was perfect. Lovely product and the box makes it very easy to access each disc with little chance of causing any damage. It is compact and stores well. The insert disc unit of the storage box does come out, but that is an advantage as that allows easier access to the discs. Overall a product of very high quality. I fully recommend this product on Blu-Ray.

Great collection of old STAR TREK Movies, going back to when Captain Kirk took the bridge seat in THE MOTION PICTURE! I like the storyline of STAR TREK - GENERATIONS! THE VOYAGE HOME is an interesting storyline when one person from the 20th century goes to the future with the crew, on a Klingon ship!
