Solid phone, good value.
I've used Panasonic phones in my business for the last 10 years and nothing holds up like them. In the sale and repair of used wheels we are tough on phones; we drop them on concrete, handle them with dirty hands, scratch them up and in general subject them to the worst environment a phone could expect. As well as Panasonic builds them, that can never be rugged enough to take our abuse and we still toss out the system every 2-3 years and start over. This new phone is NOT a disappointment. It is smaller and more convenient, there is no antenna in the way to snag on clothes or equipment and be snatched from the pocket or belt and yet the range is great. The distribution of speed-dial numbers is so easy between phones and means the time consumed entering names by keypad is minimized. The display characters are large and legible, the ability to assign (built-in) ring tones to certain incoming numbers is very handy. Off-the-shelf-standard NiMH batteries are used and the inconvenience of finding expensive custom replacement batteries is history. Good sound quality and volume. One item I found to be a step back in design progress was the change to a cumbersome 3 keystroke process to view caller ID history, very inconvenient (to me).I was excited about the bluetooth feature. Let me explain what I found that term to mean. 1) the instructions state that you can squirt the speed dial list into your phone from another bluetooth enabled phone though I had no way to check that nor did its existence persuade me to buy this system. I'll say that probably works and others may find that a very nice feature. 2) the bluetooth headset use is based on marrying to, and the proximity to the base unit and allows one to answer, talk, and disconnect calls near the base. That may be fine for many, not me. The "brochure" is very fuzzy on this and I was under the wrong impression that the feature was usable with the cordless handsets. Disappointing, but I never had it before, so no real change there. My naive misunderstanding of the bluetooth feature aside, I still find the Panasonic an excellent system choice for any location with 2 land-lines and highly mobile users at that location. My nearly 20 years of ownership of various Panasonic phones has proven Panasonic to be the go-to guys on cordless phones. I have no reason to doubt this purchase will be any different from what has always been an excellent phone choice.

Good phone, but important features missing
I've been looking for a replacement for my Vtech 2.4g 2-line phone for about 2 years now. I have been limping by with ever-weakening batteries (I've had lots of issues with replacement batteries or I'd have kept it forever). I just couldn't wait any longer; and, unfortunately, I had to go backwards for this replacement. The phone clarity is fine, and there are several neat features on this phone that I have not had time to figure out (it's a bit of a maze to get to them: it's not exactly user friendly). But a couple places where this set lacks the features of my old Vtech are: 1) There is no audible alert on the answering machine 2) bad selection of ringtones & the ringtones on the base unit and the handsets do not match (I need to be able to readily distinguish between lines 1 & 2. The "normal" rings are too much alike, forcing me to select a stupid song for my other ringtone: however that ring is not available on the base unit, only on the handset, so when a call comes in on line 2, two different ringtones are going off at once! 3) the handset is much more lightweight and flimsy (however, the handset does have a headset jack and clip for handsfree use) 4) When you want to go back later and relisten to a message, it starts at the oldest messages instead of the newest 5) On my Vtech, individual buttons flashed for waiting messages on Line 1 or 2 (it was a one-touch effort to get to the messages on either line, starting with the newest), but now one button blinks for messages, mixing line 1 & 2 messages together (if I want to listen to the messages from only one line, I have to select a series of menu buttons to get there, and playback starts with the oldest messages--stupid!) 5) The caller-ID readout screen is smaller and doesn't display as many characters 6) the microphone is on the bottom front edge, so I had to literally pick up the base unit and speak into it to get a clear outgoing message. Overall, this phone is OK, but you'd think technology would improve in the important areas, not go backwards.

Excellent 2 line phone
Update: After 7 months of heavy daily use, I have nothing but great things to day about this phone. Bluetooth capability is incredible. I use a Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset [Retail Packaging ] to connect to the phone. I have no problems hearing everything and I'm told my voice is loud and clear. This leaves my hands free to take notes or I can walk around the house.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------I find the The Panasonic 2-Line DECT 6.0 is an excellent phone. It has a wide range of intuitive feature that work well. This is a replacement to a Uniden TRU8866 5.8 GHz Digital Expandable 2-Line Cordless Speakerphone with Dual Keypads (Black) . The Panasonic does everything and more. Here's what works well for me: - DECT 6 means no more WiFi conflicts - Very long range from base to phone - Crystal Clear sound (Headset, bluetooth, and speakerphone) - Features are very easy to use - Intuitive functionality - AAA rechargeable batteries in the handset (Easy to find and inexpensive replacements) - Bluetooth headset works well - Answering machine - Professional looking - Wide range of tones and volume settings for each lineHere is what does not work well for me: - Cell phone address book copy feature did not work. (Palm Centro and Apple iPhone don't work)As you can see, there is a lot to like about this phone. I really like the Bluetooth headset feature. This allows me to move about the office without any wires. If you need a 2 line phone, you should consider this one.

Good phone, does as expected and easy to install.
Works well, gets the job done. The only thing that would have been nicer was if the supported languages also included french.

Works great! The answering machine is clear and answers both lines and the battery on the wireless phone will last the whole working day without having to be recharged until the end of the day.

Good but not great sound quality.
These are two line phones which we require, are nice looking and have all the bells and whistles one needs. The only problem is that we find it difficult to hear people talking like the receiver is not up to par. I have used several other Panasonic telephones over the years and have never had this problem before. Otherwise we would rate it five stars.

Great product. Easy to use, and to set up. Works great with the extra handsets which I also bought. It also had a great range!
